Summary: The ability to scan both sides of multiple documents into pdf files using the document feeder and any computer on the network is one way to help your office go paperless. This is a very valuable tool and I use one personally everyday.
Pros: Fast, Reliable, feature rich. My clients say they "like the simplicity of this unit."
Cons: As an IT service provider, I've personally installed 5 of these units and out of 5, 1 was Dead On Arrival, Newegg was prompt in shipping out a replacement.
Summary: for home use it seems the only consideration should be given to Hewlett Packard.
Pros: Cheap ink when considering how long a cartridge last, holds lots of paper for a home printer, Kudo's to HP for making available bare min software, came with attachment for two sided printing. trashed a brother mfc420cn/junk/high ink cost as well.
Summary: I got this on sale here at the egg for like $125 brand new in the box. For that price it couldn't be beat. HP support is terrible, but at least their products hold up better than other brands such as Brother.
Pros: Good print quality, speed is pretty great for a InkJet. I have this printer joined to my local domain and am using it through my LAN. It works beautifully through the network. On it's web page it even has a nifty online scanner utility that will allow you to save the scanned documents locally to ...
Cons: Well I'm using this at home instead of at a office, so it's a bit loud for home use. Not too loud, but when it does its self cleaning routine it can be a little noisy. But it's a printer, and they are all noisy. So not really a con I guess.
Summary: Overall I feel lucky to recieve one w/ hardly any problems. Only a few paper jams when I 1st got, none now. Using other photo/ word doc software made for a manual set-up for TWAIN device in order to scan, but no biggie.
Pros: very cheap, you can install different software levels, doulbe-sided, networkable, super fast prints
Cons: Do not install complete software package!!!! sometimes printing won't occur immediately, but does, tricky network set-up if a n00b,printer may lose newtwork from time to time, but not often, cost of replacements inks.
Pros: Bought this printer in spite of all the reviews. A first for me! Was skeptical but after using for a few days, quite possibly one of the best printers I have every used. Super fast scans and printing. Downloaded most recent driver files and installation was a breeze.
Cons: It is a bit larger than any printer I ever owned. Lots of components to install but takes like 10 minutes to set up.
Summary: After we figured out the software issue, we have had little/no problems with this printer. I would definitely recommend if you need something more than a Deskjet and don't quite need a laser (or want laser-like quality and need color).
Pros: Great, fast, cheap printer. Low ink prices using XL cartridges. Fast scanning and copying.
Cons: Every once in a while, pdf files print in random characters. The software installs a network search feature that spikes the CPU on every computer we install it on until we disable it. Sometimes pulls 2 sheets at a time.
