Pros: Printer, scanner, copier w/ 2 built in fax ports for 2 lines. Nice color LCD screen. EASILY integrates into any network. Once printing starts its FAST. Scanning is pretty nice. Has a very cool feature where you can open the printing properties in a web page, and view how much ink EACH of the 4 se...
Cons: Software not *YET* compatible with windows 7. Once you send a Print task, takes a little while to spool. Top document feature could work a *little* better; if pages have folds or wrinkles it sometimes tries to load 2 pages at once.
Summary: I really only use my XP desktop for storage, so I didn't bother with figuring it out. It failed a few times telling me Generic Host 32 crashed. It installs the software up until "connect to device", about 94%. It finds the device but install crashes before connection.
Pros: Nice prints, fast and has networking. OS X.5.7 and Vista installs both went smooth over Ethernet.
Cons: Couldn't get it to install over network on XP.
Summary: Unless you use the USB connection, this is not a printer for the computer novice.
Pros: Price, print quality and functions. Impossible to tell that it's refurbished. I've owned a lot of HP Plotters over the years and I very much prefer having the separate print heads. Works well as a home network printer (3 Vista and 2 XP Pro)
Cons: HP bloatware........always a con.....I used the "driver only" download and I have no problems using any functions. The network setup didn't work for me. Ended up having to manually set it up.
Summary: Someone mentioned in a previous review that instead of installing the printer with the starter CD, you should go to hp.com and download the full version of the software and driver around 300mbs. This is way easier to do then install the starter then wait for millions of updates to bother you.
Pros: Great quality printing, good ink spread, cheap ink. Great buy.
Cons: The printer came with everything except a USB cable to connect to the computer, I don't know why they couldn't include one it's an important and in-expensive piece. So if you are buying make sure to have a USB cable for the printer initiation.
Summary: Hp's tech support is as others said. terrible. email or online (live) support is non existent. I guess so, the other side of the world is in bed when we are at work LOL. I'm not paying $3 a min to be put on hold for an hour while they skim through the English dictionary to look up elementary words...
Pros: prints good. scans good. duplex printing saves paper and is a fantastic feature that all printers should have. stylish design, looks good in the house or office. I don't know why others are saying it's a ink hog. I've printed over 700 pages in normal quality on the stock supplied ink. it seems to...
Cons: hard/almost impossible to install over a network. install does not detect printer. a manual configuration of it's settings is a must. that is a huge flaw! most people wouldn't know what to do or how to do it even with tech support talking them through it. (even if they understood the English lang...
Summary: Comments about HP Officejet Pro L7680: I bought one two years ago at [$] and it has been the best I ever had. I printed more that ever before without problems. At [$], I could not resist and bought three more.
Pros: Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Operation, Great Print Quality, Reliable
Summary: The printer is not plug and play as the manual tends to lead you if setting it up on a network. Also, before you install this printer, hopefully you have a back up image of your PC, because after installing the SW for this printer and for some reason you have to re-install it later on, forget about...
Pros: Fast Printing, Scanned Documents look as good as the original, Built In wired networking.
Cons: The software has issues. If you are going to set this up as a network printer, roll up your sleeves and be prepared to do some work. If you are not a geek or are knowledgeable of assigning IP addresses, then this printer may not be for you unless you are connecting it using the USB connection.
Summary: Comments about HP Officejet Pro L7680: So far so good. Replaced a 7110b. Night and day difference in speed. Picture print quality about the same. Quick and easy fax. No issues so far. Abtw: Price from PC Rush was lowest.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Operation, Great Print Quality, Reliable
Summary: Installed the Software on 3 machines. XP Pro, XP Home and Vista 64 with the printer connected to the network. 1) Don't install from the CD. Go to HP's website and download the latest version. 2) While you are there, download the latest firmware.
Pros: This printer is worth the risk for the price. Even if you just use it as a stand alone copier and fax for this price you've got your money's worth. See below for some helpful info.
Cons: The software is horrible. It has major known bugs like 100% cpu utilization for its network monitoring. See below for solution.
