Only 1.5 year life...

Pamela B., Newegg
20 June 2014
  • Summary: Called HP tech support and they were able to ship a refurbish printer for about $20$30' less than retail. Not sure or this was a good idea.....
  • Pros: Print quality was great....fax was perfect, scan to printer worked on all 4 computers including all wireless devices, I.e. iPad and cell phones. I was very happy with this all in one, until it stopped working only a year and 4 months.
  • Cons: One and a half year after purchase (which I don't think is long enough) the printer stopped printing. I purchased new ink, did not help. Called HP support and all they suggested was using the on-screen print head cleaner, but that did not help. I would have given a perfect score, but since it seems this printer broke down almost exactly after warranty expired, I feel angry!

Now that's an HP!

Paul W., Newegg
29 May 2014
  • Pros: I bought this Printer to replace a J4680 printer that I have been having trouble with since I got it, yes also HP! But I have been using HP for more than ten years and because one model didn't work well for me doesn't mean that I'm going to change. This HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium is so far the best HP that I've bought from HP and I love the software program it doesn't have the other program (Photosmart Essentials 3.5)that gave me trouble with my other printer. But ...
  • Cons: The only Con. is the being able to pick which drawer to put the envelops in, it's the top drawer by default.

A good replacement for the 8500 Pro Plus

JHD, Staples
22 May 2014
  • Excerpt: This replaces an 8500 Pro Plus that suddenly displayed the printhead cleaning cycle problem (one or more printheads die, every startup triggers a repeat cycle of cleaning that drains the ink *really* fast (2nd level cleaning) and that cannot be interrupted. Powering down and inserting a known good printhead does no good; one must replace the printer, as HP has yet to admit the problem exists.

good sound printer

Eddie P, Staples
22 May 2014
  • Excerpt: This is my 4th HP Printer and like all the other ones this printer is very sound printer. It does everything I need for my business. It faxes, copies (single sided and double sided), scans and prints well. I put my printers through a workout and HP is always up to the challenge. It's a good buy.

Great 3 in 1

Leaser Sandy, Staples
22 May 2014
  • Excerpt: This printer gets a work-out in this office. 3 employees printing all day as well as a family using it at the same time for homework, recipes, pictures, invitations, etc. We also scan about 50 pages at a time, and fax several times an hour. The printer takes on the challenge and asks for more!

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

Vietnam veteran, Staples
21 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I have not used the one I bought yet, but the one at the Disabled American Veterans chapter office in Central Florida works well. Once in a while it jams, but prints forms for veterans to fill out, very well. It helps get some forms to the VA faster by using the fax. Since we make copies of all forms we fill out, the veterans and their family members have information on what we have done for them, and they bring the forms back when they return to our office, since we are...

Great Printer & Value

SLB, Staples
20 May 2014
  • Excerpt: Running a not-for-profit requires having to stretch funds to the fullest, so when I found myself having to purchase a new printer...I bought this OfficeJet Pro 8600 and I am thrilled with it. I've had it's predecessor, the 8500 Premium at home for over 4 years with no problems! I love the dual paper trays, the auto-2 sided printing and the ease of use for all my home and work activities. The ADF is great too. The E-print capability is convenient and very useful.

An excellent printer

Claude Lawrence Cornett, Jr., Staples
10 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I purchased it when I needed a wireless printer that could print within 0.12" of the edge of the page from my Android tablet and from my laptop. It does an excellent job at both. The only problem I had was that the drivers for my Samsung 10.1 pro Android 4.4.2 tablet would not connect with the printer wirelessly, and the initial HP tech support person I contacted was unable to fix the problem after 2 1/2 hours of effort and could not put me directly through to...

2-sided automatic printing!

daily home copier, Office Depot
10 May 2014
  • Excerpt: Replaced my Canon All in One with this gem. This HP is much more user friendly. I can now load envelopes, labels and note cards in the front. My fav feature is the 2-sided automatic printing! Touch screen so easy to navigate. Great price/value. Ejects paper - if not watching it or have the flap up, the paper falls on floor. Have only tried PRINT so far and COPY.
  • Pros: Doesn't Jam, Good Value, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Set Up
  • Cons: a bit noisy
