Summary: I have had this printer now for about 14 months or so. I bought it at Staples. I just now had the need to copy 2 separate pages. I tapped 'Copy' on the touchscreen, loaded my document (no alignment markings) and hit copy. I pick B/W copy and after about 10-15 seconds I get a B/W copy.
Pros: I can't really think of any at the moment...
Cons: Disgustingly slow and buggy software on the printer. When powering on, it takes over 2 minutes to boot. Loses WIFI connection at times and/or it will not wake up when I print from across my WIFI network.
Summary: Nothing wrong as such with the printer. It is in the HP device monitor and HP drivers. They must be for another printer. It took me over 45 hours to set it up, and get it to work with all five of my computers. When I first got it I was on the phone with HP for 9 hours and got sent to 53 queues.
Cons: On February 6, 2014 I bought an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 all-in-one, including the OPTIONAL tray 2. I use it in my home office with five computers. One is a new Apple MacBook Pro OS 10.9.5, another is a three year old HP Laptop on Windows 7, and another is a five year old Dell Desktop still on Wind...
Cons: Only works a year then does nothing but make noises. Over the past 10 years I have had about 10 printers of various makes and models. They seem to know how to engineer these as cheap as possible but yet get them to last a year, which happens to be the warranty period. Coincidence? I think not. I ...

Summary: I believe HP has finally perfected the ability to eliminate the competition from remanufactured cartridges. States Eco Friendly, yet if you try to use remanufactured cartridges it will not allow it no matter how many times you install, turn on and off, unplug, pray to the gods of ink, etc.
Summary: So sick of this crap that stops working as soon as the warranty runs out. There are many known issues with this model printer that HP refuses to stand up and fix. DOES ANYONE make a printer that actually lasts anymore?

Summary: WARNING!!! This two tray printer does not have the ability to auto-select the correct tray and switch from photo paper and plain paper, as I first thought, and expected it to do. I bought it so one tray can have plain paper, and the other has 4x6 photo paper in it.
Summary: Evertime i use it i have to restart it. Then it works great for one print series. If you look around on the web people has the same issue . HP does not care. I have been buying brother product for 10 years because of their software package - networking via wireless is a snap to setup.
/begin rant I used to love HP and have always bought HP printers and laptops

Summary: When one cartridge runs out of ink (in my case cyan), the printer will no longer print. All cartridges need to be replaced. So if you use only black ink, you have to buy the $78.00 color ones too. I feel cheated.
Summary: Very Slow to Print, to Copy. The ink cartridges wear out rapidly. Touch pad Menu difficult- pop up ink warning messages require time wasting button push overrides. I would not recommend this Printer. A lot of time- to print, to copy.
