Summary: HATE THIS PRODUCT!!! I have lost so much productivity over the print cartridges WHICH ARE ASTRONOMICALLY expensive...and any of the recycled cartridges DO NOT WORK in this machine. If you use anything other than HP NEW ink..you get trash out of it and it flat out refuses to work. And YOU DO NOT get great output from the HP color cartridges either. I get maybe 100 color prints before all hell breaks loose. I would never buy this product AGAIN. It's highway robbery!!
Summary: Not a good buy. Expensive cartridges. Scanner quit working within two weeks. We have several printers and seem to have more problems with the HP printers. The cartridges are not only expensive they don't seem to last as long as those in some other brands.
Summary: Don't get this printer only after 7 months of owning it the lcd screen broke look at cnet before buying a printer many people have the same prob with this printer I have a brother laser printer that i have had since 2010 that still works its also network printer both wire and wireless the only thing it doesn't have is a scanner this printer is over priced and the lcd screen wasn't used by me I used the hp tools on my computer to run scan or send fax so my lcd screen...
Summary: Printhead showed up as "failed or missing" after 2493 pages printed. Not impressed. A new printhead currently costs $124, and a new printer is $169. Won't be buying any more HP printers. I recommend you don't buy this model unless you want the printer to die in under two years.
Summary: We do a lot of color printing and have worn out a series of HP Officejet Pros over the years and the current 8600 is the LAST ONE we will ever buy. Switching to Brother. We need the separate ink tanks this model offers, but this latest version has a chip on the cart and so far we cannot find a remanufactured cartridge that will work.
Pros: Lots of features and used to be our go-to choice. Not any more!
Cons: Chip on ink carts and so far NONE of the remanufactured brands work, including the Office Depot version. Apparently limited to HP's official carts at twice to 3X the price of the remanufactured.
I'm not easy to please and have written plenty of negative reviews.

Summary: I will buy a second one for a relative. I saw one reviewer leaving a one star and am a little suspicious because its a great printer. Note, if I was reviewing one of their past models I would leave a big fat negative. But this one has been excellent for more than a year.
Summary: Called HP tech support and they were able to ship a refurbish printer for about $20$30' less than retail. Not sure or this was a good idea.....
Pros: Print quality was great....fax was perfect, scan to printer worked on all 4 computers including all wireless devices, I.e. iPad and cell phones. I was very happy with this all in one, until it stopped working only a year and 4 months.
Cons: One and a half year after purchase (which I don't think is long enough) the printer stopped printing. I purchased new ink, did not help. Called HP support and all they suggested was using the on-screen print head cleaner, but that did not help. I would have given a perfect score, but since it seems this printer broke down almost exactly after warranty expired, I feel angry!
