Summary: Nothing but problems by the time warranty is up. Not cheap printing. The ink may appear cheap but what you won't be told is the separate print heads need regular replacement which drives the running costs high. Printer now dead - stuck in an infinite reboot and will not reset. Don't even think about HP support. Even their user forums are useless with solutions to problems hidden and lots of censorship of posted comments.
Summary: I bought this printer in July 2013. It was replaced in February 2014. Now the replacement will no longer work. Fortunately, I bought the protection plan to go with the printer. The protection plan is refunding all that I spent on the printer. I will never purchase a HP printer again. Avoid like the plague.
Summary: We are a large 27 year old brick and mortar supplier of ink and toner to thousands of customers nationwide. Each week we repair dozens of printers... far too many HP's to count. In the past HP built great inkjet printers, but starting with the 4500 series the quality dropped off remarkably with each successive model slipping farther and farther down in quality and reliability.
Pros: Look great
Cons: Very low overall quality to premature printhead failure. Ink is very expensive. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER
Biggest Printer Disapointment - Looks good but Don't Buy
22 November 2014
Summary: I have never rated anything before but this printer has been such a disappointment very expensive to own and a huge time suck, I had to warn others. Purchased from Costco and first one out of the box had a printer head problem so I returned it. After a year the wireless printing went flakey (after many driver down loads/updates I gave up..), at about 18 months the loader went flakey but mainly when scanning.
Summary: After a few years of use, I got that dreaded ink supply failure. Did every kind of trouble shooting, including new ink cartridges; it won't work! Every time need to do hard reset by unplugging power card and then it will for a short period of time! and then back to square one! Customer does not have to go thru this.
I am beyond upset and disappointed with this printer
29 September 2014
Summary: I am beyond upset and disappointed with this printer. It was working UNTIL the one year mark, when all of a sudden I got a paper jam notification. There is absolutely no paper jammed in the printer. Every time it attempts to restart it I hear a clicking sound on the left side and then the "paper jam" notification pops up. I have called HP and they are NO HELP, then I turned to youtube and forums where I see that many of us are having the same problem!
