Excerpt: its an okay printer. i had another hp all in one printer that was great so when it messed up i decided to go with another hp product. my problem with this printer is how difficult it was to set up. my computer just could not detect it. i spent two hours talking to hp to fix the issue. another problem was that it runs through ink really quickly. When the HP Officejet Pro 8500 works, it works spectacularly

Excerpt: This is a good printer, most of the time. Sometimes it has a habit of not printing correctly, or paper jamming. It is a bit of a challenge to connect to the computer, but once figured out it works well. The print quality is top-notch and very fast. Price is appropriate. I give it 3/5 simply because there is nothing more frustrating than when it refuses to print properly, and it does this often enough to lose 2 stars.
Excerpt: We purchased this printer for our home business. We were so excited because it was wireless and offered fax, printing, scanning, and copying. For the first year we did not have any problems other than the installation needed to be done online because of the software program we use. After about a year, we began receving an error message occasionally "LCD needs to be udated" Now when this happens, we have to turn the printer off, our computer off, and restart everything.
Excerpt: It's ok for tehy price. Isn't all that user friendly, still can't fax over email which is stupid i today's wireless world Takes up a lot of ink and the ink never dries fast. It is ok, just ok. would buy laser all in one and just use efax.com. or u send it.com had difficulty switching it to another computer. don't even think about trying to wirelessly hook up the printer-it just doesn't work-far too slow.
ON A MAC GREAT, IF YOU CAN GET IT TO REMAIN ON & NETWORKED

Excerpt: Hi Folks here are my lengthy two cents about the HP 8500 Wireless All in One. There is a lot to discuss (sorry). This machine would be a FIVE STAR WONDER if it came from the HP of the 1970s 1980s or 90s but unfortunately it is produced by those who seem to have never heard of quality control.I purchased it on the 6th of August as a standalone device. Did not network it wirelessly or with a wire to anything.
Excerpt: I wanted a office printer to ease up on the ink usage I was usually going through. I've had great results with this model. It prints very fast and the letting is always crisp and clear even when printing on low quality. The duplex option is also quite useful for saving paper and works very well. The auto feed when scanning is hit or miss, it does jam once about ever other scan.
Excerpt: When we purchased this printer over a year ago, the salesman told us that it was "green", in that it used less ink. So the money we spent on ink would go further. That seemed like a good idea at the time, but WOW....the ink is EXPENSIVE! We have had to purchase ink a lot more than I thought we would and each time it is over one hundred dollars to purchase all the ink we need. On a plus side, we have never had a paper jam and the printer works beautifully!
Excerpt: I was actually part of a cloud review team with this printer and the iteration of the printer I had in the beta program worked better than the version I have at home. This printer does not stay connected to the wireless network and often does not respond to the computer to which it is attached....
