Summary: I will never, EVER understand why this piece of electronic horse manure got onto the market, unless HP had no quality control whatsoever, or they were looking the other way when the foreign manufacturers loaded them on the boat, or if they were sold a bag of goods the way high school seniors sell...
Too much printhead cleaning results in ink leaking onto the carpet.

Summary: This printer... Oh dear, it will drive you nuts. One of the worst engineered products I have ever used. This printers user interface is garbage, and it takes an excessive amount of time to do anything. The startup cycle takes too long, it has to "warm up" whatever that means, since its inkjet...
Summary: This has to be one of the worst printers on the planet. After printing about 6-7 pages it will go to the "Cleaning Printhead" mode and then "Checking Printer". It will then again repeat the process. This takes 3 minutes or so. Then after the next 6-7 pages the same thing happens.
Summary: This printer is a nightmare. Here's a question for HP Customer Support, when your directions say do this and that and then press the "OK" button, what is the "OK" button? If you run out of paper, your computer will not recognize after paper is in the printer again.
Summary: This is by far the worst printer I ever owned. I got this for my home office for my color printing needs. I only used it once a month or so. I use my Brother MFC-L27400W for every day printing (Awesome printer).
Summary: I bought this printer from a store, not from Amazon, about three years ago. I have to agree with the negative reviews in this section. This printer is a nightmare. Not only are the ink cartridges expensive, the printer also has constant troubles with the printheads.
Summary: I have the 8500 a909g, the printer displays a false "Paper Jam" message, which turned the printer into a paperweight. "Apparently" this is a common problem due to crap plastic gears and/or a faulty logic board. The complete failure of my printer could got have happened at a worse time.
Summary: One star means I hate it, according to Amazon's rating system. I guess that is pretty accurate. I don't know how helpful this review will be, so long after this printer has come out (and been discontinued). But maybe I can warn others from taking a chance on buying a used one.
Summary: We bought this printer brand new and literally a couple weeks after the 1 year warranty and it's been nothing but headaches. I get giant black bars on color scans, unacceptably slow performance doing a simple scan so when I rescan to try and get the right picture if takes 5 minutes per 600 dpi scan.
