When it works, it's ok. Problem: doesn't work for long.

gkhairallah--2008, CNET
24 October 2013
  • Summary: This printer is worthless.
  • Pros: It's versatile... when it works.
  • Cons: Does not work. , - First replacement of cartridges, and the printer would be missing colors. Spend $110 on a new set of cartridges. Then another $50 for a print head, and still no printing.

  • Summary: Would never buy this printer again. Indeed, I think this one is the last straw for HP and me.
  • Pros: Not too many. Hmm: slick-looking.
  • Cons: Very spotty performance; counterintuitive interface; slow; eats ink like nobody's business; lots of paper jambs.

IT STINKS!!!!!

Mace Pavelek, CNET
29 January 2013
  • Summary: NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY THIS PRINTER!!!!! I HOPE I SAVE JUST ONE PERSON THE HEART ACHES I HAVE HAD.
  • Pros: NOT ONE --- HP is MUCH more concerned with getting you to buy cartridges you don't need than giving you a printer that will actually print. I will NEVER buy an HP product of any type again!!!! They are shameless, money grubbers.
  • Cons: If you buy printer supplies in advance, they have a dated expiration and even though they are full of perfectly good ink that you paid for - they will not run. Don't buy this piece of ====. YOU'LL BE SOOOOOOORRRRYYYY!!!!

This HP printer isn't too good

daaneel, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: This has to be one of the WORST printers I could possibly think of for office use. Among the numerous problems I have with the machine, the largest is that if any color runs out of ink the entire printer is completely useless. I work in a small office setting where this is my only resource for all copies, printing, faxing and scanning. It does none of these things if the cyan cartridge (or any other one) is out of ink.

WORST PRINTER I HAVE EVER OWNED - I HATE HATE HATE HP

Ross900, CNET
21 August 2012
  • Summary: HP has managed to build a printer that will BLEED you of $ in ink. It is impossible to print black and white pages without using all your color cartridges. I have been on the phone with HP tech a million times, and they cannot solve the problem. Even when I manually, and painstakingly manually set everything to print draft quality only using black ink, the printer does what it wants to do which is USE COLOR INK!!!!
  • Pros: Feeder for scans - but quality of scans is not good
  • Cons: Rarely able to print using only black ink cartridge. HP has managed to make the software default to color and high quality any chance it gets. Very expensive printing costs. SIZE it's huge. Second paper feeder has never worked- I hate this printer

Piece of Crap

2 July 2012
  • Summary: Not sure that I will ever buy another HP product again. Some serious issues with this printer..
  • Pros: None that I can think of.
  • Cons: Displays marketing message that "counterfeit" cartridges will void warranty.. Exhorbitant cost of HP cartridges. Will not print consistently. Quits printing when using other cartridges..
