Summary: So far this printer is a dream. Nice looking, very easy to use for printing, scanning and copying. I bought it for my small business which requires printing multiple page documents on a daily basis. It doesn't do double-sided at the speed of the printers at Kinkos, but if you are not printing books, this should be fine for your use. I am just so happy to have automatic double sided after so many years of doing it manually! My last printer was an HP all-in-one.
Excerpt: Don't buy. Several problems as in a previous post that I found only after we purchased. Only had three weeks. Problems started first couple of days. All the lights on printer display will suddenly blink on and off. A box will appear on the computer saying " there is an error please turn off machine". When you turn it off as directed it comes back up it says that it was an "incorrect shutdown" even though you used the on/off switch as requested.
Summary: Last HP I'll buy. HP's own website stated the unit has 4800 dpi OPTICAL resolution. Based upon my need for high resolution scanning, I purchased the unit. Once received, unpacked, software installed, etc., I scanned my first image. The ONLY scanning options were 75, 100, 200 and 300 dpi. The 300 dpi had less quality than my prior Brother MFC machine. I contacted HP's customer no-service and was given help from a clueless Tech 1.
Summary: I am very pleased with this printer investment. It has worked to exceed my expectations. It services my small home office environment as well as the entire home. I am able to print from any device (Windows, Mac, smart phones, iPad) without any issues. The included software lets me scan documents easily and save them directly to Adobe PDF if I want. I am confused by some of the other issues people claim they have.
Summary: The minute this printer connects to an ASUS router, WIFI or Ethernet...it dies. 3 different model ASUS routers, latest firmware - including the AC-87U, and it doesn't work with any of them. HP has sent me a replacement - and the same thing happens. Almost 30 other devices on the network, and none of them have a problem.
Piece of junk. Nothing but issues. Tomorrow's trash.

Summary: I am very disappointed with this printer. I have had it for 6 months, and have never been pleased with it. Here are the issues I have had with it: 1] scanner ADF feeder always pulls paper sideways, never straight. 2] The printer has all sorts of trouble picking up different kinds of paper namely photo paper and envelopes. But I have also run into issues with it not picking up regular stock paper as well. 3] The alignment and text clarity has never been great.
Summary: Finally, an ink-jet printer that isn't so thirsty. My previous MFP burned through ink-jet cartridges, and this model is much more efficient. Now, if only the printer had a manual tray feed, it would be perfect. In order to print one-sheet labels, you have to pull out the paper tray and push it completely in after loaded. I do a lot of one-shot labels, and so I do find this to be troublesome sometimes.
