Summary: So far so good. Replaced a color laser printer and the only downside is that the pages feel a little damp at times unlike the laser where they came out dry and a little warm. Very quiet which is a plus. The laser was much louder.
Summary: I started using this printer 2 weeks ago and got a false Paper Jam error that could not be cleared ( I never had a paper jam, just the error). I spent an hour with HP consumer technical support (this is a home-use printer). Went through all of the troubleshooting steps I had done multiple times before calling and the error could not be cleared. I thought I was getting a new printer but TA DAH!
Summary: This is the best printer I have owned. Large print cartridges last a long time. Prints very quickly. I am able to do a lot of printing that I wouldn't do in the past because the ink cost is not bad. Color prints in draft mode come out good enough for my use. Purchased second tray and that has worked out well. This printer was very easy to set up. I use it on a home computer as well as 3 laptops. Very satisfied.
Summary: Whoever designed this printer did not provide for easy printing of just one or two envelopes. If you're doing a large batch, it's great, but to switch from sheet to envelope printing, you must empty the paper tray, load the envelopes and adjust the paper retainers -- a pain in the butt. Too bad, because the print quality is really fine.
Summary: The setup stops at loading paper in the tray, a very simple task. The setup screen even shows you how to load paper but the printer cannot pick up paper from the tray. Setup halts and repeats error messages to load paper.
Summary: This printer was quick and easy to set up. It prints VERY quickly--I'm so impressed by how fast it spits out a sheet of paper! It double sides pages with no effort. I've had it for about 2 months and no major problems yet ;). Once one of the ink cartridges slipped out and so my computer said there was a paper jam, but when I went to look at the printer, one of the color ink cartridges slipped out. I pushed it back in and it was back to normal--no biggie.
Summary: Did a lot of research, and in my opinion, the Amazon Reviews for this are too low. This shows up as a top 5/editor's choice on a lot of different sites. Setup was easy - the printer has a lot of helpful documentation right out of the box, and the screen prompts you through what to do (including little movies that show you how to do steps) to set up. I don't even bother with the DVD that comes with it, go straight to HP and download the latest drivers.
Summary: I did my homework on printers - and they were right when it came to this one, easy touch screen, easy copy, fax, scan, FAST, easy 2 sided copy/scan and the Ink so far - next to none used - last printer 100 pages of color and i was out - this one 100 pages and no ink used on the display - That is a $50 savings already - It does save ink unlike my last so called dell ink saver. At this rate, with in 2 months I will have already paid this off in savings.
Summary: My old HP 7700 was a great printer. We still use it but it seems it can only print a few pages and then the print starts to fade. Wait a while and it does okay, but for my home office I needed something that would print a 100 pages without a bad page. This printer will do that. Where it falls short is if I want to print on card stock or even envelopes. I can't get it to print on card stock at all and envelopes have to be fed about 3 or 4 at a time.
Summary: Extremely easy setup. Great features compared to 8500/8600 multi functional printer. Wifi from phone, computer, great instructional display. Don't need extra tray - just more paper in the tray! Low printing cost. Look at other review sites!
