Summary: I have had a lot of Windows 7 compatibility problems with this printer. It gives false paper jams and sometimes prints 5 sheets of coded garbage before printing the requested print. Sometimes the requested print is only about an eighth of the page and it quits. I fixed this problem twice but it seems that every time windows updates I have to research the problem and attack it from a different avenue.
Cons: Where to start.... For the most part, when it worked it was something to swear at and not by. Jams were constant, scanner was hit or miss if it was going to come out well and fax was slow. Granted, this is a cheap printer but really all you get for your m
Pros: If you can actually get to the printer, it doesn't completely suck.
Cons: If you ever want to set the thing up on a new machine, count on spending all day messing with it and then having to spend another day fixing the other machines that used to work. hardware is fine, the software is utter crap.
Pros: Form factor is nice and fairly compact. Does a decent job with ADF printing but is a bit slow compared to the Epson I had previously. Photo quality is decent but you really need photo paper and the photo cartridge to really get quality photos on print.
Cons: The software is junk making the printer unusable with a Windows 7 laptop I just bought. Printer drops off line and I have to reboot the laptop to get the printer to talk again. Spent nearly 4 months off and on trying to resolve the Windows 7 issue with
Pros: None, nope not one (but cnet requires 10 characters) garbage, pointless, useless, worked about 20% of the time. Spent 10 times more energy trying to get this anchor to work than actually using it.
Cons: Bloatware, System Instability, HP software is like NASA controlling a Porta-Potty. There is only so much you really need but HP wants to make it as complex an experience as possible.
