Gets the job done but takes a lot of effort to get there.

Excerpt: When I started college, I knew I'd need to have a good printer. I preferred one that did everything so I'd never have to go to the library or UPS to fax, print, or scan something. The HP OfficeJet J4680 All-In-One series is a nice, affordable printer. There are two models of this printer that are exactly the same, except one is wireless (connects to your network) and one is not. I chose the wireless one because I have a laptop that I don't keep near the printer.
Excerpt: I purchased the HP OfficeJet J4680 All in one Wireless printer as a second printer in our home about two years ago. I have owned the HP Officejet 5610 all in one printer for several years and love it. I needed a wireless all in one for newly acquired laptops. This is a satisfactory all in one. However I'm not as in love with it as I am my HP5610. I am a stay at home mom. I am comfortable with electronics but no guru.
Excerpt: the product is very satisfactory.the price is good considering the features.the small dimensions of the product is suitable for a small home office. the wireless feature is very useful for homes which makes use of portable devices such as laptops. the paper feeder sometimes jams. the automatic feeder for the scanner needs improvement.
The HP OfficeJet J4680 All-In-One Wireless Inkjet Sucks Up Ink

Excerpt: I purchased the printer January 2010. The price for the all-in-one was reasonable and I was happy to put my old printer to rest. I was pleased with the copies it produced. The main problem I have is how frequently you have to buy the ink cartridges and the cost of them. I'm at the point now that I have to pick and choose sometimes what I want to print. It drinks the ink like water.
Excerpt: We have several laptops running in our house and decided we needed a wireless printer a few months ago. We found this printer at Staples for a decent price and liked the other features it had, so we decided to try it. It's okay, but it's certainly not the best printer ever. It goes through ink really fast, and we run cartridges until the print quality is gone. One thing I was really excited about was the borderless printing feature.
HP OfficeJet J4680 All-In-One Wireless Inkjet Printer, wireless?

Excerpt: I purchased the HP OfficeJet J4680 All-In-One Wireless Inkjet Printer last year because there was a sale going on at Staples that allowed me to recycle and old printer and get $50 off this one. I was really excited that I was able to get such a great product for surch a good price. I was able to connect with my laptop and print in a few minutes, which was awesome. Well that's where all the excitement ended.
Excerpt: I got this printer for about $20 with the purchase of a laptop. The reason I chose this printer was the WIFI feature. I LOVE this feature, because it makes using it so much easier. When my family comes to visit it is very simple to get them connected to the printer. The one thing I do NOT like about this printer is it miscommunicates a lot. It will have to be restarted. Also, it gets a lot of paper jams. Other than that, everything works great.
Summary: Set this up on our two lap tops and one desktop and it never worked right on any. On one computer it couldn't scan at high resolution without the scan software crashing. On the other two computers it had trouble keeping active and instead kept saying the computer couldn't connect. Every time I would uninstall and reinstall and it'd be ok for a few months. After about 1.5 years and it stopped scanning.
Summary: I had the J6480 for a little over 2 years. I loved it until it started mis-aligning the print on the page. I could find no references on how to fix this other than try to make sure the paper and paper guides was properly aligned. That didn't help. Print was 3/16 inch lower on one side than the other and skewed on the page. Must have been something faulty with the paper pickup system roller.
Summary: I've always been happy with HP printers--until now. It prints fast, although the software is slow to load the job. Unfortunately it does go through a lot of ink cartridges; even the xl size empties out fast. Today, however, I tried to fax a few pages and on the third page there was this horrible noise from the feeder, like gears jamming and slipping. I've never had a printer go bad in what I consider to be a short ownership (a year and a half).
