Summary: Maybe you're like me and are thinking surely the software is not *that* bad. Against all suggestions, I went ahead and performed the entire installation. (BTW, contrary to some reviews, I was presented an option to do a smaller installation.) I had no initial problems, but back to software shortly.
Summary: Truth be told, I only buy HP printers now. Epsons were always really finicky & frustrating for me and Canon's too slow. HP's in our SOHO have always been reliable, fast machines and relative (though appropriate to size & cost) workhorses.
Summary: If you want a solid, reliable, full featured all-in-one for your home or small office, this is it. It prints fast and sharp, uses less ink than most, and scans well. BUT - don't even begin to load the included software. It will crash and freeze your computer, and require countless hours to remove.
Summary: We can all hope that software updates will eventually catch up because this is really a nice piece of hardware. The software when working is actually pretty solid, the problem of getting it to work of course exists. Plus it simply is way too bloated for what it does.
Summary: I've had this same copier for 8+ years & just basically wore it out. I bought another even though I could have gotten a new more technically advanced model b/c I know how to use all the features on this one Arrived safely & in a timely manner.
