Meh...Had problems

On The Waterfront, Staples
10 January 2014
  • Excerpt: After nearly four years with my prevous HP 7000 printer (which also printed on ledger paper) it finally gave up the ghost. I had replaced the print head once; I am considered a heavy duty user. Of course, that model is no longer available, so I "upgraded" to HP's new 7110 model which has wireless capability (of course, it did not take the same ink as the previous printer, so I was stuck with four unopened new cartridges).
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use
  • Cons: Flimsy Construction, Jams Easily, Unreliable

Corrective action

Overstock
6 July 2008
  • Summary: The printer I received also had expired ink cartridges. However, when I notified Overstock, they issued me a credit for the cost of new ones. Not perfect, but not bad.

Expensive to maintain

Nicksdad "Nicksdad", Amazon
1 July 2008
  • Summary: I've had the HP7110 since June of 2003 and it has been a pretty good machine. I've mainly done black and white printing and occasional scanning. I've used the fax feature heavily but don't print many photos because of the high costs. I replaced the print heads last year, which was very expensive, and I just figured out two of the heads need to be replaced again. This is surprising considering I haven't used it nearly as much this year as in the past.

  • Summary: I purchased this printer for the duplex feeder and all in one capability. Unfortunately, I am unable to save to a PDF file when scanning. I use scanning for my home office. The print quality is great.

hp officejet 7110 all in one

Donald Colf "Don", Amazon
18 October 2007
  • Summary: Have had this machine for a while, been good to me. I am sure there are better ones out there, but it was priced right for an all in one that included fax. Pros- Price, Easy to use/ set-up, HP Brand reliability and support (have not needed any) Cons: Seperate print heads from ink, seems to use ink fairly quickly, print heads are $30 to replace. (just now replacing first one, 3 yrs.

WOW - I am surprised by all the negative HP feedback

Amelia, Austin Texas, Amazon
18 December 2005
  • Summary: I have not bought this item nor any other HP printer in a long time. However, I did buy the HP 820 Cse years ago and I could not ask for a better printer. It has worked for years and I've had very few problems with it. When I needed to download new drivers, it was always fast and easy. If I had a problem, I could always find a solution either at the HP web site or other sites where fellow HP people discussed problems and solutions.

Mac Users Beware!

Nicholas T. M. Bruel "NBruel", Amazon
13 January 2005
  • Summary: Okay. I've had this massive grey thing to the left of my desk for 7 months now. This is what I've learned. 1) It does make nice copies. It does make nice faxes. The scanner is pretty good. 2) It likes power. Do not plug this thing into a power strip. Plug it into it's own outlet. Why? I don't know. After 5 months, it suddenly didn't want to print in black. I ran through a few ink cartridges, talked to cust.

"Good Features But Extremely Bad Quality"

CNET
6 January 2005
  • Pros: We were looking for a multifunction printer that provided color, fax, copy, and flat-bed scanning capability. This HP model was one of the few printers we found (at the time) that had all these features for a reasonable price.
  • Cons: When the printer works it's great. However, the printer will break and then your nightmare begins. The poorly designed print heads consistently break. In two years HP has replaced the printer itself and four of the print heads. The printer consume
