Set up was fairly easy and the print quality on plain paper was good

S. Whitten, Amazon
19 September 2014
  • Summary: I was looking for a wide format printer for my business and, after researching, chose the HP Officejet 7110. Set up was fairly easy and the print quality on plain paper was good, but after printing four sheets I received a pop up on my computer saying my printer cartridge was "depleted". There was a radio button on the popup giving me the option to "buy now".

You'll waste more money/time buying ink than actually printing anything. 2 out of 5.

Karolina, Amazon
17 September 2014
  • Summary: I am a graphic design student in my senior year, and I bought this printer mainly so I could print on 11"x17" sheets and larger, to save myself some time and money. I got tired of going to print shops and shelling out tons of money on printing. I also wanted to use it for general daily printing tasks - printing papers, various documents, photos, etc.

Where has all HP's quality gone????

Chem Engineer, Amazon
21 April 2014
  • Summary: This machine was purchased to replace an HP 1220C, which ran for 12 years without a problem and gave great print results on drawings, until the gears stripped one day. The 7110 is garbage! It doesn't even print straight - the fault of a TERRIBLE paper tray design that doesn't hold the paper securely in alignment. This becomes apparent on engineering drawings where straight lines are broken, crooked, etc.

NO OWNER'S MANUAL

mandrewwhiteman, Staples
26 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Had problems from the beginning: 1) Power source cable is too shory. Had to use power source from previous HP printer. 2)USP connection was sideways unstead of up/down and very difficult to figure out how to connect. 3)Printer malfunctioned and jammed. If there had been an owner's manual, I may have been able to correct it, but had to call tech support. After 45 minutes, tech support told me the printer is defective and transferred me to a supervisor.
  • Pros: Fast Print Time
  • Cons: Flimsy Construction, Hard Setup, Hard To Use, No Owner's Manual

Don't buy refurbished

Overstock
17 June 2008
  • Summary: I bought a refurbished HP Officejet 7110 because I loved my old one and HP discontinued the product. But the one I purchased from Overstock had unusable, expired ink cartridges and the paper feed doesn't work with Kodak or HP photo paper, so I can't print any of my digital photos on glossy paper. This isn't what I bargained for. Lessthanthrilled2.

wrbtu, epinions.com
21 July 2006
  • Summary: The next time I need a multi-purpose machine, I'll be looking at other brands, due to the costly ink cartridge gimmick that HP uses
  • Pros: Useful as a fax machine
  • Cons: Ridiculous gimmick makes users buy unnecessary ink cartridges

Ok machine, terrible software and support

Kenneth L. Simons, Amazon
30 April 2005
  • Summary: HP's OfficeJet 7110 all-in-one looked great initially: a reasonably priced machine that prints in color, scans in color with a sheet feeder, copies, and sends and receives faxes. However, four problems arose in practice. First, color printing is often of poor quality because the colors don't quite line up.
