Summary: Got this printer from a local office supply store and love it, but like others said it has an issue with idling while printing and scanning. I never tried the fax option so no comment on how that works.
Summary: In the end I didn't buy this from Amazon as the delivery lead time meant I was going to be without a printer for nearly two weeks - so that was a bit disappointing. However, the review is to assess performance and overall the outcome has been good.
Summary: I bought it to replace scanner, but use it for occasional printing, and in case I need to fax anything. The document feeder stopped working, then started again about a month later. I'm really pretty happy with it.
Pros: it prints, ink lasts pretty long, double sided printing a definite plus (saves paper), 4 devices in one, 3 year warranty
Cons: nothing much, software options aren't really user friendly; I don't print much, but I buy my ink at a supplier so it doesn't cost much. my only worry is if one device stops working, I lose printing, scanning, faxing abilities. so far so good.
Summary: this is the 2nd printer I have had and really like the new one. The wifi is great since I have 2 computers on the network. The challenge I have had is getting all the programs to work with the printer.
Summary: I got this printer from a local retail thinking that I can return it if needed based on some of the subpar reviews found here on Amazon. However after about 1 month worth of printing and scanning, I really like this printer. Setup overall is easily on Windows and Linux operation system (Ubuntu).
Summary: Like many printers on the market, the physical product itself is cheap and chinsy. Otherwise, the design is good, the printing average, and the cost for print pages slightly less than other pritners, in my experience.
Summary: This printer is great IF you connect it to your network via ethernet cable. Printing, scanning, etc. can not be beat for the money. However, if you decide to use it as a network printer wirelessly, be prepared for frustration.
Summary: My parents have the 8500 and this is alost as good for what we paid for it. Since it was onsale for Black Friday I'm not going ot be too disappointed if it fails like the other posters have commented on.
Pros: Black and Shiny, looks great on my desk, I am so tired of every printer being grey or white. Printing to it from anywhere on the internet by emailing it whatever I want printed. Apps are cool but haven't used them much.
Cons: Wireless wouldn't setup right, it saw my AP but could never pull an address from it, kept defaulting to 169.x.x.x so I had to revert to the wired connection. Not really a big deal, my printer is within 6 feet of my switch but I had planned on moving this out to the dining room table occasionally ...
Summary: Previous version lasted only a couple of years but the "upgrade"is reasonably priced and easily set up.Original shipment/ was defective but Amazon makes returns easy.Relacement is fine so far...about 2 weeks.
Summary: I read all the reviews and I believe the printer deserves a little more respect. Easy to set up twice as fast as the HP5510 we replaced, with Laser quality. The wireless option was also very easy to establish. The gotcha is you have to use HP Ink to maintain the quality and speed.
