Summary: Touch screen is hard to view unless directly above it. Canceling a print leads to a several minute delay while the machine recovers from the change in plan. If you do a lot of single copies of items, it can drive you crazy just getting ready to do something. If you don't like the low ink warnings, this is the printer for you. When you run out of any of the colors, it just prints with whatever color it has left.
Summary: This is the second HP6500 class printer that I own now (use both still). They are good dependable printers. My only real issue is that when scanning a multiple page stack, it very often jams. For some reason it wants to pull the top sheet crooked.
Summary: I liked the ease of setting up the printer, especially wireless. However, when I was scanning photos using the document feeder, they kept jamming and now it's makes a terrible noise. I have to return to see what wrong. Overall, good printer for the money.
Summary: Bought this model at a local office supply because of attractive pricing and advertised features. I should have read the reviews! It worked well for about a month, then I started having problems with the 'Sleep Mode', that other people are reporting. Pressing the power button is useless; only recourse is to unplug the printer and do a hard reset. It will usually work for the remainder of the day (small office, 80-100 pages a day). Next day, same game!
Summary: I got this HP 6500A Plus last March. No problems with setup and it is an improvement over my old HP All-in-One. Faxing works beautifully (the old one refused to talk to certain other faxes), print quality is fine. The DRAFT mode in the HP software didn't work, so I set up my own and it took me a while to find "2 sided" in the Layout menu. I like the duplex feature and the wireless works fine with my iMac desktop and Macbook Air.
Summary: This printer was ordered from Amazon and quickly passed on to a company in Brooklyn for shipment. In the mean time I was able to fix my original printer and wanted to return the one ordered. Not an easy task !! First I had to deal with the forms from the shipper, notify Amazon, and somehow get an RMA from somebody. after a week of phone calls and paperwork we finally got it sent back (at our expense) but still don't know if Amazon will credit our card.
Summary: This printer is not the WORST printer I've ever used, however I'd say that the things I dislike most about it are its ability to run through ink cartridges (that cost almost more than the printer) so quickly. The XL versions seem to last longer, of course, and also that whenever I try to print on a dark colored paper, the printer tells me I have the wrong paper size and refuses to print on it.
Summary: A couple of days ago I purchased this product. I previously owned an HP 6180 Photosmart All-in-one printer. It lasted about 7 years. I had difficulty installing the new printer because as I got into the installation a warning popped up indicating that the device "has not passed Windows Logo Testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP." I have windows XP sp 3 32 bit. To continue installation could have cataclysmic consequences so the warning went.
Summary: I purchased the HP 6500A Plus because I wanted a wireless all-in-one machine with a duplexer to replace my old HP duplex printer, Epson Scanner and Panasonic Fax/copy machines. For functionality and value, this machine is tops. I now have one machine that does everything with little compromise. However, there are some minor annoyances and one major flaw that, from what I can see, seems to be all in the firmware.
