The print quality is good, but the software/wireless is horrible.

Summary: I have owned this HP printer for over a year and a half and it has required me to reinstall it several times. I come home, fire up the laptop and try to scan...no dice. says there is no printer. Printer says there is no computer. Prior to blaming my laptop...it's also an HP.
I hope you don't want to print wirelessly with your wireless printer

Summary: I bought a wireless printer/scanner hoping to print and scan *wirelessly*. Even when printing a regular old Microsoft Word document, the printer will print in fits and starts. It begins printing page one, then it prints half of page two, thinks about it for about a minute, and then continues.
Summary: I purchased this printer approximately 18 months ago. I bought it so that I could print from my ipad wirelessly. I found out quickly that it wasn't as easy as advertised. When attempting to print, the printer could not be located on the wireless network.
Summary: We've owned this printer for 14 months so I feel that I can now give a well earned review of this printer. It's an "ink-hog". The reason we've gone through so much ink is because we've had to clean the ink heads almost every time we've needed to print anything more than a couple of pages of color.
Summary: I've had the HP 6500A Plus for just over a year. It is a low-end printer that I've found satisfactory for black print copies. The color capability is dismal, even the color quality reports that issue from it are awful and I no longer bother putting in the color cartridges.
Summary: My parents purchased this printer in 2009. About a year later or so I was trying to contact hp because the scanner had started leaving streaking lines across the images. Hp would not help us with it because we did not purchase an extended warranty for it.
Summary: I print maybe 50 pages a year at best. And when I do want to print it is usually maps or driving directions or something that I need right away. This unit is constantly problematic. Either the ink is low or the paper fails to feed or it feeds all the paper at once or says "print head malfunction".
Summary: Yet another low rating for this product, which never lived up to expectations. At least we learned one thing by buying this printer -- we can understand why Hewlett Packard is having trouble staying afloat. Thankfully, other printer manufacturers are available.
Summary: A frustration for the entire ownership. When it worked, it was fine, but we struggled with power save restart problems throughout our ownership. And now it fails to power on. Bought this about 2 years ago. It has been back to refurb, or has been swapped three times, and still has problems.
