Summary: maybe expecting too much? but with only occasional use for three years it has stopped printing even after replacing the cartridge and trouble shooting here's a fix if you want to try it: [...] edit: there's a fix on hp dot com; I did a search with "hp printer stops printing cartridge full". It requires removing printer head, soaking in hot water and drying. It's a good fix, it worked great.
Excerpt: This is by far the fanciest printer I have ever owned so if you happen to be a little more advanced in the world of printing, this might not be the review for you. I have a little home based business and this printer is absolutely the handiest when it comes to all the little tasks I need to to perform. I like the print quality and speed, the scanner quality is great, it makes a fine fax machine and it copies without a problem.
Excerpt: Overall print quality is excellent. Price is good also. Some points of interest: 1. When setting up the network printer I ran into a few snags and no two installs followed the same dialogue. It took a bit of time and patience to set up a few computers on our network. 2. The print cartridge empty light came on with 25-100 pages remaining. I typically use Fast Draft as a default and keep printing until ink ran out. 3.
Excerpt: We got this printer in December 2009 after my last HP photo printer died after 2 years. I hope that's not true with this one! This printer is super easy to use and the touch screen is nice. I love that I can scan and copy and have used both features numerous times already. It's also great that it's wireless. My daughter can print from her computer in her bedroom and I can use my laptop from anywhere in the house and print.
Excerpt: My husband and I were in the market for a new printer for a while. We wanted something that could print photos at home quickly and not too costly as well as scan and be wireless. No small order for any printer. I have always used HP printers in my home because they are reliable and tend to be a good value for the money. This time we ended up with the HP Photosmart Plus Wireless All-in-one printer. It was the end of the model season for it so we got it for a great price.
Excerpt: The HP Officejet 6500 Wireless is a great product for the price. I am using it as a wireless product and had no problems setting it up to work with my Windows 7 computer. As an "ALL in ONE" it set up in minutes and I have been able to use it to do all that it said it would without any problem and no additional cost for more software. Our old HP printer quit printing well and I needed something new.
Excerpt: I purchased this printer 5 months ago and have been pretty happy with it. I LOVE the wireless printing because I'm a couponer and don't want to have to keep switching the usb between my desktop and laptop when printing online coupons. I like that I can change the setting to fast draft and grayscale so it doesn't eat up all my ink since the coupons I'm printing are supposed to be saving me money, not costing me loads in ink.
Excerpt: hp printers in general are good, and this printer is no exception. however, some problems still persist from older models. for example, hp drivers are known to have a lot of bloatware, which is unwated programs and automatic updates that take up more resources and hard drive space from the computer than is necessary. many users just want the ability to print, and should make sure to only be installing the driver that will allow that function.
If it would stay connected, this HP All-in-one would be awesome

Excerpt: Why oh why did we choose another HP? Our old (2 years!) HP All-in-one quit connecting to our wireless network after months of losing its connection, so we shopped around for another. Like fools, we selected the latest low-cost HP All-in-one because it was the cheapest choice among name brands for a wireless all-in-one (printer, fax, scanner). Price was a big consideration.
Good printer, but very disappointed with compatability

Excerpt: I bought this printer 2 months ago to replace another HP all-in-one that bit the dust after 3 1/2 years of moderate use. Overall the Officejet 6500 is a decent all-in-one printer. Quality is good, ink use is average, printer and copier work well. Was easy to set up and get going.
