Cons: Will not work wirelessly. It continually loses the IP address. Slow, slow, slow! "Gyrates" endlessly before it will perform any function. Always says, "Printer is preparing..." Drinks ink like water.
Summary: The power company shut off the electricity while it was printing, and now it will not feed paper. Used all the utube help videos and checklists I could find, to no avail. Only about a year old. Save you money and buy something else. And when it was working it drank ink by the gallons. HP printers are one of the worst.
Summary: This printer has been a complete waste of money and time. Out of the box, it had difficulties connecting to a standard wifi home network. I've got a bunch of other devices that have never had a problem connecting to my network. The drivers for this thing can only be described as MASSIVE BLOATWARE. It's like a 90mb file to put the driver on my computer to print to it!
Summary: I bought this printer a little over a year ago. I liked the features and that's what sold me. The price was $260.00. It is noisy and slow (when it worked). Right after the 1 year warranty expired (within a couple days)it quit feeding paper. I did the whole reboot proceedure and nothing worked. Come to find out the feed wheel is not working. Understand that this was a home use printer, and in the the year of operating, I replaced the cartridges three times.
Summary: This is the worst printer money can buy. Loud, cycles over and over again for no apparent reason. Uses ink like a sieve. Eventually started giving an "out of paper" error that would not go away regardless of the cleaning recommendations and other steps I took. HP offered an upgrade to the same printer and the 8600, but I'm getting an Epson instead. Terrible. Terrible. Shame on you, HP.
Summary: I bought this printer from a big box store and it served me well for the first year or so. I used it about as much as an average home printer is used, doing scanning, copying and printing. The ink cartridges, even the XL ones, are either mislabeled or just a rip off. The ink ran out WAY too fast, and no, I didn't let the printer sit very long unused. As a grad student, I print quite frequently.
Possibly the worst piece of electronics I've ever owned

Summary: I'm not exaggerating. This printer could almost ruin someone's life. I can't even begin to describe the trouble I've had with the wireless part (gave up on that a long time ago) and then just getting my cpu's to recognize it wired. I've had countless problems with this printer. So many I'm not going to go into detail. And not just the network aspect.
Summary: Using HP Cartridges. Every time one needs changing I get "missing or damaged" message. I am so tired of messing with this printer, cleaning the heads, etc., I just want it to work. I was a real fan of HP printers, but no longer. Do not buy this printer. Edit: At last after cleaning, and playing, I got the new yellow cartridge accepted. Now the blue one says "missing or damaged". I'm done.
