Stay away from HP. Many woes.

Jon Gudmundson, Amazon
15 March 2014
  • Summary: My HP Office Jet 6500 will be thrown into my garbage can today, and thence taken to the city landfill this Friday, where it will undoubtedly join many of its brothers and sisters. Why? Because it refuses to print in black. When the problem first began, I assumed it was due to the black cartridge being low, even though it should have had numerous pages worth of ink in it (it did, in fact).

  • Summary: This printer is awful it sucks down ink, fails regularly, and takes about 2-3 minutes to warm up and print your initial page, and that is with leaving it on and ready to print. additionally it does not work well with windows 8 and I have not been able to get it to print color photos since switching it to windows 8 despite attempting numerous fixes, upgrades and reinstallation of software. don't waste your time its not a good piece of equipment.

Worst printer I have owned

Brad Ellis, Amazon
15 February 2014
  • Summary: Don't buy this printer! I have owned this printer for several years and have had continual problems with it. It is on our network and will only print one page at a time now. If you try and print multiple pages it will skip some. Scanning works for a time but eventually stops and the driver has to be re-installed for it to work again.

"Worst printer ever!"

Muthersbaugh, CNET
16 October 2013
  • Pros: There aren't any.
  • Cons: Will not work wirelessly. It continually loses the IP address. Slow, slow, slow! "Gyrates" endlessly before it will perform any function. Always says, "Printer is preparing..." Drinks ink like water.

tempermental piece of junk

hubeee, Amazon
30 August 2013
  • Summary: The power company shut off the electricity while it was printing, and now it will not feed paper. Used all the utube help videos and checklists I could find, to no avail. Only about a year old. Save you money and buy something else. And when it was working it drank ink by the gallons. HP printers are one of the worst.

The Worst Printer I've Ever Owned

TampaDave, Amazon
31 July 2013
  • Summary: This printer has been a complete waste of money and time. Out of the box, it had difficulties connecting to a standard wifi home network. I've got a bunch of other devices that have never had a problem connecting to my network. The drivers for this thing can only be described as MASSIVE BLOATWARE. It's like a 90mb file to put the driver on my computer to print to it!

Maybe it was worth the 6500 trip

Louis Dumbrowski, Amazon
20 March 2013
  • Summary: For the past 18 months i have been extremely pleased I bought this HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One printer. As I do a very limited amount of colour printing my emphasis was on greyscale and to this end the large cartridges did me just fine. As we all have been a party to past machine experiences and especially those that leave us with a rather bitter taste in ones mouth on this occasion the Printer Head went speedily southwards after less than two years of regular but...
