Summary: a few years ago this replaced an older hp all in one that worked great but was not compatible with my new computer. so I figured it was time for a new one anyway. This is by far the worst printer I've ever owned. it really never did work great , and the photo prints were not as good as a printer I had ten years ago. It burns thru ink, and like all the others have noted....eventually the black ink goes out.
Summary: This printer worked *great* for about a year and a half. Suddenly, out of nowhere, in the middle of an important print job, it stopped printing black ink. We went through all the trouble-shooting steps (cleaning, nozzle check, etc). Color worked fine, no error messages. We found out after google searching that this is a very common problem.
Summary: Lasted about a year - when we called for customer support we were only offered to buy a new one since warranty ran out. - very noisy didn't print much but had to replace cartridges more than we should have.
Summary: I am formally against HP products, primarily because they look great on the outside (nice polish, slick design) but severely lacks on the inside - all based on my various experiences with HP products. As far as this printer goes, please avoid it. It looks great and has a really nice design. It's actually a good copier and scanner. But as far as printing goes, it doesn't.
Summary: Had this printer for 2 years. 6 months ago it stopped printing black. I thought I may have had a defective cartridge and so purchased another one. Installed it... still not printing black. So now I have 2 perfectly good ink cartridges and no printer to use them on.
Summary: Continually has problems. Wont print black randomly, then next day it will. I've had to clean the printhead manually several times within first year of owning it. Unreliable piece of crap - save your money. Ink cartridges run out much faster than my last printer's did. It was HP photosmart 5150 or something. Loved that printer. Hate this one and regret buying it. I paid $70 for it.
Summary: Printer did not work out of the box, contacted HP for tech support / troubleshooting after I couldn't get it working myself with online guides, was informed after they checked the serial number that this printer was ~350 days out of warranty, attempting return.
