Summary: I love this printer, but they seem to have mfg defects so this is my 6th one in 5 years. First three the scanner light died within the first 6-9 months. Next two have ink problems where color ink would not work with new cartridge. Repairmen told me that this is common with this HP and you have to physically go over to the printer and hit menu to print in color, which can be a pain. But I do like the ease of using it, so will keep replacing until there are no more to buy.
Summary: For the most part, I like this printer, it gives very clean, crisp copies. On the down side it is a little slow and the ink cartridges are small so they don,t last very long. For the price, it,s a nice little printer/ copier/ fax.
Summary: I was actually bidding on a wireless 4500, but the USB 4500 is still a very good printer. Very versatile, can do many things. The one "con" against the printer is that they can be a bit stubborn when changing print cartridges.
Summary: I have had this for some time but still, often, have difficulty printing and/or scanning. It seems that the machine often objects to what I want to do in spite of my carefully following instructions.
Summary: Bought it because we replaced identical unit. Very simple to use. Previous one lasted many years. Mostly the price was about 80 bucks, cheap. Had no interest in learning or reading new copier.
Excerpt: I was able to get a real deal on this at Staples.com for about $65.00 when my Lexmark X6150 died. It's a really good low-volume printer for people who need a printer/scanner/fax for personal use. If you're a high-volume printer, this may not be the machine for you. I'm currently fundraising for my upcoming Team in Training marathon, and printing out lots of fundraising letters. It's run out of ink twice within the last 4 months.
