Summary: I needed a new all in one printer as my old one was more than 5 years old & it was giving me problems with printing. This printer I purchased seems to be ok with printing but the fax portion does not work properly. The box it came in had the seal tape broken so I don't know if it was really brand new or not. I can use it to print & copy ok so I am not going to be that concerned about the fax portion. All in all, the price was ok & I can use the machine to print & copy.
Summary: I miss our old printer! I hate this printer, it takes forever to print a simple black text page. I am not sure why we keep buying HP printers, because we are never satisfied with them. The wireless works fine and no problems with the ink. I just would not recommend buying it because of the speed. HP says if it takes 90 seconds or less then that is "normal" speed. Really? I am pretty sure they don't advertise this speed when you are buying it!
Excerpt: I was excited to get my new printer to go with my new HP Computer; however, I've had problems installing it due to having Windows 7 installed on my new computer. I got an error message saying "PC does NOT recognize printer" Told me to try another USB port or USB cord, tried both and still wouldn't install. Went to Windows 7 and updated new drivers which I shouldn't have had to do, still won't install, and my new printer is still NOT installed correctly!
HP Officejet 4500 G510b All-In-One Printer has its pro's & con's
9 September 2012
Excerpt: We bought the HP Officejet 4500 G510b All-In-One Printer and it's not my favorite. The good things about it is it does print good pictures, has great helpful software to install on your computer that lets you change printer settings, scan documents, pictures, send faxes & more. Also it can be installed on multiple computers.
Summary: This printer was great for barely 6 months. Just received the "Unable to scan, copy or send a fax" error - apparently the kiss of death, and unfixable, according to HP support site. Professional response from HP is "more than likely it is just gone." Well, that is extremely disappointing! I have always been proud of HP printers as a work horse, reliable and dependable. Loved that it could print/copy/scan and fax...
Summary: The wireless works well, the printer prints nicely, but I can't get over the fact that the printer gives me error messages and is not easy to figure out how to get back to working. I've used a lot of printers, including many other HP printers, and this is by far the least user friendly. Now this is my first HP inkjet printer so perhaps they have a different team designing them. The laser printers are very easy to use and troubleshoot.
Summary: I purchased the HP Officejet 4575 about two weeks ago (from a local store). It is essentially identical to the 4500 except that it has a 20 page document feeder, an ethernet port, and may be a bit faster with printing. (This is the closest I could find to a comparison of the models as for some reason the 4575 is no longer being sold... [...]) Keep in mind that this is NOT a photo designated printer, so do not expect top-notch pictures.
