Summary: I have 2 of these printers bought for limited home use at different locations. I have had good luck with other HP products but not this one. Both have same defect. Black ink cartridges uniformly fail after only a few weeks, cleaning does not work. Cartridge is still full but will not print. Replacement immediately fixes for short period. Only happens to black not color. You don't see this problem until after warranty over . Company no help.
I then bought a HP 4632 printer and so far it works great.

Summary: When I first turned it on, it made a loud chattering sound for a few seconds, then started working ok. Two weeks later it made that same sound again and said it was printing, but it wasn't. I never could get it to print anything after that. I sent it back and got my money refunded without any problems. I then bought a HP 4632 printer and so far it works great.
Summary: This is the most useless over-engineered underwhelming piece of junk I have had the displeasure of having to deal with!!! If you're OK with printing on nothing but 8.5 x 11 paper and using # 10 envelopes exclusively, then by all means buy one. On the other hand, if you have a need to use custom sized paper and/or envelopes, do yourself a huge favor and get yourself an Epson....any Epson! it will work right out of the box and without bloated software that does nothing!
Eventually it started making terrible grinding noises whenever I turned it on

Summary: Total junk. We had this for about a year and I am throwing it out today. It never worked well with our Mac, and I had to unplug/replug every time I wanted to use it. Eventually it started making terrible grinding noises whenever I turned it on. It also seemed to use a lot of ink. I replaced it with Canon MX922 which seems thus far to be more Mac-friendly and better on ink.
just overall a crap worthless piece of sloppy American-made trash

Summary: Eff you HP! I gave you 2 chances and both printers died within 24 months, not to mention copious problems, jams, not waking up, not working wirelessly, just overall a crap worthless piece of sloppy American-made trash. Paid over $200 at Costco. Bought a $59 Canon printer for my daughter a year and a half ago for college and it works like a champ. I picked another one up at Fry's last night. For my money Canon wins. HP and Epson can bite me HARD!
Summary: Just awful. There was a time when buying a HP printer was a safe bet of getting a product that actually worked. This printer doesn't. Getting the wi-fi set up was a nightmare. It kept telling me that a port was blocked and I needed to re-configure my firewall. After over an hour messing about with it, to the point of completely un-installing my firewall, it was giving me the same error. If finally suggested re-setting the printer, which worked!
Summary: I purchased this printer as a replacement for my Dell, which i had for several years. At 1st, the printer worked fine. but within several months the printer started to act up. I would constantly lose the wireless connection to couple of my computers at home. The scanner would sometimes not function. I would constantly get cartridge alignment errors (even after i successfully had it run the alignment calibration).
Invest in another printer... it will save you time and headaches...

Summary: This printer is not worth your money. I read many reviews prior to buying this printer but since I had previously owned an HP printer and loved it, I figured it was a just a few malfunctions with unfortunate people. But seriously this printer is not worth the investment, the wireless option hardly works and you end up having to use the USB cord unless you want your document to print an hour later. The printing quality is okay.
