Summary: I bought this for home use and wife's grad school projects. I wanted to get away from the inkjet and ink smudging when touched wet or damp. Works very well does not print pictures as well as some of the dedicated photo printers (not tacky though) but everything else very good. It would be nice if printed in fast draft or grayscale for all documents. Definitely an upgrade from inkjet. Fax and scan work well.
Excerpt: I've been using this printer as my only office printer for over a year now and just realized I'd never reviewed it. I've never had a problem with it printing or scanning - it's worked perfectly and the ink cartridges last a long time. It makes noise at odd times, but that's the only negative I can come up with...
Summary: Setting up this printer has been a journey. This is the second of this kind of printers we have had. The first one would not print or scan so we brought it in to best buy and they shipped us a new one. The second printer had the same problem as the first, so after two and a half hours on the phone while geek squad was making a house call and $107.00 the printer was working.
Excerpt: Have been using the M177fw for about two months and would rate it as excellent. Using it for personal needs, so can't say if heavy business use would affect performance. Quality of color copies is terrific. Of course it's still new, but haven't had any paper jams or any other technical problems. Print, scan, fax and copy functions all working fine.
