Cons: - Lack of firmware updates. - Despite what their websites say the printer cannot print full color pages clearly. - Color correction makes everything darker. - Horrible for a business solution. - Laser print cartridges very expensive. - Limited printer apps. - Firmware update link on HP's website does not work most of the time.
Summary: Just another piece of junk from HP. Stopped working all together after one year. I cant copy, scan nor print. After FIVE HOURS trying to get this thing to work, I give up. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no help. HP has a few links to customer support...they go to pages that do not exist. I'm guessing that most of these "AWESOME" ratings found are from paid marketing employees or algorythms (cheaper than paying customer service reps).
Excerpt: I have this device at my home office and so far (knocking on hard wall) this device has been excellent for the many needs that my office is used for. I use it to print Block Watch flyers as well as Church material information. I also scan material to my local NAS device and am able to retrieve the documents in a timely manner. The scanning to USB is very cool for on the fly PDF scanning.
Summary: We have had a CM230nf printer for almost 6 years and it was time to update to stay current with mobile devices. With it we had the extra paper tray (CB500A) which is an extra feature for the 2 low-end versions but included in the nfi version. When we got the new m475dn we tested out the printer with the old paper tray and it WORKS! The base is pretty much the same shape and all the pins on the unit looked exactly the same as the the pins on the newer tray (CF106A).
Summary: I have never had a problem asking this printer to print or make a copy. However, I don't think I have never NOT had a problem asking this machine to scan. Whether that is scanning to a computer or using the top feeder to make a copy, it is awful. HP man tried to fix it, nothing doing....you can't fix broken. Must be a design flaw. Anyway, I do NOT reccomend this machine if you think you may be scanning or using the top feeder, at all!
