Summary: I did not purchase this item through Amazon so it is nothing on them this is just a product review. This is just a heads up if you are thinking of buying this printer. I changed the black ink cartridge, looked simple pulled old one out put new one in. Machine started to make a hammering sound turned off right away. Ink drum was stuck called HP support absolutely no help. Took to local computer repair shop that works on HP equipment.
Summary: I have used this printer very sparingly. The printed copies are okay but the printer is very unreliable. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. I tried a new connection (thinking it was the cord connecting with the computer, but it too, doesn't work). I was told by the folks at office depot that they quit carrying the printer because they had gotten too many complaints. My trouble has been going on for almost 6 months but I kept thinking I could get it to work.
Works Fine...When it decides to work...and on it's own schedule!

Summary: This replaced an older InkJet that I could not stand buying cartridges for. The toner for this printer is probably more expensive, but I will only have to replace it once a quarter. I print about 20 sheets a month and scan twice that. The Good: -The Wifi works great -Works on Mac OSX 10.8 -Scans over Wifi -Prints from iPad/iPhone -Quite -Fast enough for what I do -Zero setup issues on the Mac!!! The Bad: -No setup support for Windows XP?!
Summary: We're happy with the printer and have used the printing, copying, and scanning functions. It does have a problem printing two-sided in that the back pages are not printed in the right order. This was a problem with a previous HP Laser Printer too, and it would be nice if they could get this right. Other than that, the printer works as advertised.
Summary: Bought this printer in good faith thinking that I'm buying a top product from the world's best known printer manufacturer. Not a bit of it. The printer is very noisy and it only printed the top half of the page!!. The tech support line was very obscure (not run by HP), and generally It was an experience I'd rather forget. I've returned it to Amazon & order another printer.
Summary: I needed a printer quickly for work and was convinced by an in-store salesperson at a well known computer store that this was right for us. It's noisy and slow to print, cartridges are pricey and, here's the clincher for me, there's something called the imaging drum which needs replacing every one and a half colour cartridges i.e. every 3 cartridges used you'll need two imaging drums. They are more expensive than the cartridges.
Summary: Although it prints, scans and copies well and prints are of really good quality, it has one feature which annoys me to no end: after a certain idle time it switches itself off instead going into hibernation mode. On top of that, I made a mistake when ordering it, I meant to order a wireless printer, which it isn't.
Summary: Where to start. At the beginning. Installation: Easy to set up, plug it in via usb and there it is. No worries. Great. Now try and configure the wireless to work on your wireless network. No, I couldn't either. It defaults to having "smart wifi" enabled, which means *any*one in wifi range can print to it. No thanks. Print quality: It's very average, prints come out darker than I expected. It's not dreadful, but I expected better.
Summary: I bought this printer from another supplier in September 2012 as I needed to save ink on the amount of paperwork I print on a daily basis. Initially, going from inkjet to laser I was very pleased at the longevity of the toner, but I feel the overall performance of this machine brings my rating down to the 2 I have given it. I print legal documents daily, around 50-150 pages some days and within that several all colour photo type pages.
