Summary: We have had 2 of this exact model prior to this one that were purchased NEW. We loved it. We miss it sooooo much It ran all day faxing and printing and it was a beast!! Lasted over 2 years also. But even though the model is discontinued now, to purchase new was $600.00. When we got the last 2 for $250.00 If you can afford new, go for it.
Summary: I have now gone through 2 of these. Each dying a few months after the warranty expired. When they work they are good. The only problem being the fairly expensive toner cartridges. But after a year or two, they start to get unreliable. They lose the network connection and you have to cycle the power and restart before you can send print jobs to them. My latest one has done this for a month or two, now it just turns itself off at random times.
Summary: I have owned several HP Laser Jet printers, all of them outstanding. This one is a lemon. Within one year, the fax component stopped feeding. I sent it back for repairs. After three months, the machine would freeze and not work. HP business support was no help. This is an unreliable machine and a disgrace to HP's name.
Summary: I just got off the phone with someone from HP because my M1522nf will not scan because I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I called HP and was told sorry it will no longer work we don't support this product anymore. So I now have a $400 paper weight. Don't ever buy HP again, same thing happened before but I liked the all in one so I thought I would try it and again this happens to me.
Summary: We have this fax machine in our small office. You must babysit it, otherwise you won't know if your fax went through or not. It shuts down in the middle of sending a fax. You then have to turn off the machine, turn it back on, wait for it to restart, stop it from re-dialing, and start all over again. It will say Fax Error Confirmation on your confirmation but still say "OK" next to the number dialed, so you do not know if it went through or not.
Summary: I bought this printer and loved it for a year. After my warranty ran out, the scanner broke and whenever I turn on the printer it now says "Scanner Error 5 Turn off then on." I cannot scan or copy anything on it now. I called HP and they said that this error is now no longer covered under warranty even if I was under it. Not worth the money!
Summary: Bought this about 18 months ago. Figured that the more I spent, the better it would work. It worked fine until a few months ago. Now, it "dies" after about five minutes. Doesn't matter whether you make one copy, or fifty. Turn the machine off, let it warm up again, and it's good for another five minutes. An Internet search discovered that this is a common problem with this model, and there is no cure.
Summary: We bought this printer for a small office about a year ago at a large chain of office supply stores. Since copying/printing is absolutely critical, we bought the extended warranty. What a waste! The first printer had feed issues that caused too many paper jams about 9 months into the purchase. Because of the extended warranty, HP took the printer back and said they'd send a replacement one. When we got it, it was a refurbished unit.
Summary: do not purchse from this vendor. it reminds me of the commercial with the russians who claim to be 'peggy" ' when i called to complain about why i got what was clearly a used item the phone was answered hello, as if it belonged to an individual not a legit company. when i asked to spesk to someone who could address the issue i was informed that he was 'outside' and would call back. several more attempts to contact them were nothing but bzzz signals. wonder why?
