Summary: I run two of these at my office. I scan and print and they are wonderful. I've moved to "faxing through my email" so I don't use the Laserjet for that function. I surely enjoy it and it has been a workhorse for many years. Thanks HP!
Summary: The printer worked for more than 2 years--until it stopped, but the fax was sporadic. the scanner was complicated, and each time they took me through customer support I was introduced to a new set of instructions to create a scan, and too many options as to how to place it in a file or be named. Now that the electric system seems to be "Kaput" the printer.either doesn't turn on or does so reluctanly--then shuts off before the first page has been printed. Th problem?
Summary: I upgraded my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. This printer would print fine, but the scan function was not installed. It was determined to be a bug in the upgrade process. I had to refresh Windows 8 Pro from the recovery disc (apps are recovered, desktop programs all need to be reinstalled). I downloaded the HP 4.3 full function software from the HP website and did a save only.
Summary: Works as it should in most circumstances but is not totally compatible with Windows 7. Having to write a minimum amount of words to satisfy ebay is why a lot of reviews don't get written. Is this enough yet?
Excerpt: I have used this particular printer at work for about a year now and I have found it to be a good printer overall. I find it to be a bit bulky in comparison to other all in one printers but it does a good job with printing, scanning, and faxing. The printer is also easy to operate and is quite intuitive to figure out how to operate.
Summary: Got this printer for $10 AS-IS with the note that it freezes after a print job. Installed it while writing this. Hey, there is a "new" firmware out which can be downloaded from HP, the driver suite will also get it automatically during install. Reading through other reviews: I do NOTE use the FAX function, cannot test it. Install is done, unit printed a test page over the network and still reacts to my input. Network scanning 'works' from my own PC.
Summary: I have owned this printer for over four years and have never had any issues with it except for the occasional paper jams. I realize there are a lot of negative reviews but as far as I'm concerned this printer is flawless.
Summary: I don't know what has happened to HP. They used to make well rounded good products. Now they make disposable half-assed products. This one is great as a multifunction printer/scanner/fax if you leave it on your desk. It prints fast, it scans with quality, and has all the other features you should expect from a multifunction product. The Problem is: as a Networked Device it falls flat. My company purchased one including the added "MFP" Network compatibility.
