Summary: Was running OK for several years until the scanner bulb warm up problem which so many have had with their HP multi-function printers came up. I googled and said wow; so many have had the same problem, without a definitive solution. I cleaned the mirrors as suggested by some, it did not work for me. Then I replaced the laser scanner assembly--not that. Then I replaced the copy scanner unit, not that either.
Summary: This thing just lasts for months and months on a single toner. It's good to know HP makes quality products that last as long the 3055. Granted, the fax part is all but useless today, but the scan, copy and print functions are used nearly every day. Add a router to the mix, and it can do that wirelessly too.
Summary: The Dell 3055 is an okay devise in general. This model seems to have routine scanner issues causing poor copy and scan quality. We service several of these units and are having multiple issues with almost half the units in the field.
Summary: I've had this printer for 8 years, now i want another for my kids so they don't come down to bother my printer anymore. This is one of the most vise versa printer i found 8year ago at Fry's Electronic ,was onsales for 150.00, this tone cartrige very cheap all over on line, can printed up to 1500 papers easily. That why i bought another one.
Summary: The seller mansion it was like new. When I received it, I get shock. It pack with news paper. Some parts are fall apart. No instuction to put it together. No manual. No install software. No driver. I fell very sorry to buy that printer. I hope I can get the information sooner to set up and user, otherwise it will be used as dust collector.
Summary: Only had like 1 jam with this printer in the 3+ years of use so far. Good, solid workhorse printer. The fax works solidly as well (although I wish there was a way to turn off the printing of burst/summary pages JUST for inbound non-fax calls). Never been able to get the scanner function to work with my Mac, but I didn't try very hard since my other printer (a Brother) "Just Worked" the first time I tried, so I use it for that purpose.
Summary: I believe the actual release date of this device is in 2005 or 2006. The hardware seems to be excellent, solid, built like a tank, worthy of HP's reputation. However, the software definitely could use improvement, and I am not even referring to it not working with Vista or Win 7. I have the device installed and running via a USB connection on a WinXP-SP3 machine.
Summary: I work with three of these printers on a regular basis and they have been great. I have all three of them configured as network printers. In addition to the driver suite, this printer supports the use of LaserJet "reference drivers" included with operating systems...if you do not want to install the included CD, the printer can be used as a "regular laser printer". I am not a big fan of network scanning in general, but these printers support network scanning.
