Cheap construction - Scanning sucks!

Summary: For a multi-machine this thing seems cheaply constructed appearing to have that cheesy plastic, flimsy build. I made a BIG mistake moving from an HP Scanjet 8250 to the 9110. I crank up all the scan settings to scan NCR order forms, and all this does is produce a 400MB file that looks pixelated, light, and crappy. The scanjet 8250, using the same settings produces a beautiful copy at a reasonable file size.
Summary: While other reviewers are very detailed, I'm going to get right down to my personal experience with this printer, which I bought in 2005. I used it on my Mac computers. It worked well for a couple of years, however, the ink jets and the ink cartridges are separate. That's four ink jets and four ink cartridges. Now, when ink runs out, of course you have to replace a cartridge.
Summary: I am an IT Consultant and I expect a lot more from HP when buying their products. This is the worst product I have ever seen HP put in production. Problem #1 - Software installation never completes and some program are missing. Problem #2 - Scanner driver never installs and still does not work despite two phonecalls to HP and 6 hours of technical support. Problem #3 - Fax contiues to report error to sending fax machine although you recieved the fax.
