Summary: This is the third HP multi-printer I have purchased over the years. Set-up was easy. But while the print quality is very good (scan, documents, photo, copy), multi-page print is quite a problem. Using your own documents or trying to print from the web, multi-page print is impossible. It prints the first page, half the second page, the stops and you get nothing. Sometimes you can print each individual page one-by-one, but what a pain! Most times, this doesn't work either.
Summary: After using the printer/scanner for about 3 months, it is very useful. Much better than a separate scanner and printer. It was very easy to setup and calibrate. For me it was handier to have the paper tray under the unit. It was packaged well and received without any shipping damage. The print Quality is very good. I like the two ink cartridge ink better than the multi-cartridge ink.
Excerpt: This printer is a great printer for the price. I do find it a little bit loud when it prints but the features makes up for the noise. I can print wireless from any of my devises. I like the feature that I can email my documents straight to my printer from my phone, iPad or whatever. Even though the directions are useless it is easy to setup once you figure out how. I went on to HP website directly to guide me through.
Excerpt: Not very impressed with this printer. I would have bought buying a more "top of the line" printer would pay off. First, it is very very slow. Second, the wi-fi to the computer is hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't. It worked when I first installed the software for the printer, but when I tried it again, from another room, it was a no go. The printer basically requires you to have a computer science degree to run it.
Summary: HP has fantastic support for the Linux operating system. This printer is no exception. Under Ubuntu 14.04, the printer is configured almost automatically with the preinstalled hplip package. Everything is functional. For Ubuntu 12.04 and its derivatives like elementaryOS, you may need to install the hplip package from the precise-backports repository. You can enable this repository from the "updates" tab in the Ubuntu software center. This printer has a good design.
Summary: The machine looks great and has lots of good features. Easy to set up, but I had trouble almost immediately. When I went to print multiple pages, it would stop printing after a few pages and didn't finish the job. I need to be able to print multiple pages. After spending time with tech support, we loaded a "different" printer that I guess has different drivers. It worked, so that was good. My latest glitch came today when I printed a ~10 page doc.
Excerpt: Hi! I had trouble getting the scans to work. One hour with India and one hour with the Philippines through the Internet were not satisfactory. Your tech department sent a technician and I'm happy to say it's up and running. I like the printer very much.
Summary: This printer is fine in all respects EXCEPT when it comes to printing pictures. Regardless of the size print you choose, the printer places your picture smack down the middle of the paper. It won't print multiple pictures on a single page. This is incredibly wasteful, almost as though the goal is to sell lots of printer paper.
