and I don't like how slow the electronic paper eject is
10 January 2015
Summary: It's okay. It jams sometimes, the screen is full of stuff we don't need, and I don't like how slow the electronic paper eject is. (On the 100, the paper eject is manual and less frustrating). My 100 model stopped working (scanner issue) so hoping the 120 lasts longer. It's the right form factor for the space I put it, otherwise I'd buy something else. Print quality is just okay. I mean, it's a printer. who uses them these days anyway...

Excerpt: I bought my first of three 120 Envy printers starting in 2009, and this one that I bought just 2 days ago, all of the first two printers just stop working for me just could't get them to power on, a salesman told me that three years were the limit for the life of these printers. I use them at home just for pleasure work, not for business.
Summary: Just a word of caution. I bought this one year ago (Aug 2013) and one month after the one year warranty expires, my scanner sensor goes out and now I can't make copies and scans (which I use frequently for homeschooling). HP support said I could buy a replacement for *drumroll* $122! And I could even pay an extra $19 to pay for extra warranty (which you apparently need if you want your product to last longer than one year)!
Excerpt: Original printer from Staples setup fine out of the box. Tried to scan and got a black page. Went to update firmware, and that would fail. Began to get "blue screen errors". Contacted HP support and even though I just registered my device it said that it was 10 months out of warranty. Got that resolved. HP sent me another printer and it appears to be working fine... been only 2 days though.
Excerpt: There are several things I like about the Envy 120. It is very compact. It has a very pleasant appearance. I like that you can see what you are scanning, that is a very helpful feature. I like that it is very quiet and prints fast. I like that it always gives you the option to print in black and white and I like the touchscreen display. However, as I bought this printer mostly for the scanner, I am frustrated that you cannot scan in greyscale which was what I needed it to...
