I guess it's worth the price I paid for.

Smileygee Angel, Amazon

  • Summary: It is good at first but now I have problems in printing something. It will always say that the paper is not aligned or out of paper while it is not.

like new

Larry Smith, Amazon
22 May 2014
  • Summary: This was unit listed as "like new" and cost more, but worked better than the models listed as "refurbished" - that was my experience.

Useful but lacking

cheryl, Amazon
24 April 2014
  • Summary: Ordered this printer since it would take the same cartridges as another printer we have. Must have been a refurbished version as the packaging was not as a factory issued printer would have been, although it said "new".

  • Summary: It is just what I wanted, no more or no less. Also I have a bunch of print cartridges that fit it. It is simple to operate and I am able to copy stuff with it. Just what I wanted.

first creepie newegg experience

Randy V., Newegg
6 July 2011
  • Summary: Long time customer, first time recert buyer. Heck, you have every reason to think you're gonna get the same quality product and customer support. But after I installed the printer, the nifty HP support software knew better than me -- even though the supplied cartridges snapped-in perfectly, the...
  • Pros: For the money, the printer is relatively fast, quiet, and has the basic features we needed. Although this isn't an Epson review, it beat the pants off the 2 year old, 150 smackers Epson we replaced (2 years and about 300 bucks worth of replacement ink cartridges).
  • Cons: newegg pulls a fast one on these recerts. As others have noted, they just drop a couple of cartridges in the box with no regard to compatibility.

Bad cartridges

Richard S., Newegg
30 June 2011
  • Summary: I understand there's a certain risk involved with ordering recertified items, but how do they screw up something as simple as getting the correct ink cartridges? Whoever was in charge of recertifying these printers needs to wake up.
  • Pros: Looks nice, the printer itself seems to be in decent shape considering it's a recertified item. Too bad I couldn't use it.
  • Cons: 1. The black ink cartridge I received is bad. It doesn't tell me specifically what the problem is, the error simply says "Cartridge Problem". 2. The color ink cartridge I received is incompatible. How does that even happen? Do they just pick a random cartridge and toss it in there? The sticker wa...

Recert HP F2480

Raymond C., Newegg
22 June 2011
  • Summary: For the price, it is an excellent buy for the kennel here. A mouse destroyed the 4280, a repeat will not be as costly.
  • Pros: It functions per HP. Older, slower model than it replaces. Great for the price.
  • Cons: As others posted, it came with old cartridges in the carrier. No worry, It also came with two new cartridges. However they were not in HP packaging and the color one was damaged. I happened to have a new color cartridge available and the thing ran fine. Having no scan button like the 4280 it repl...
