Summary: This printer has very low ink capacity and has trouble feeding paper. Often says out of paper when it is still over half full. Also, print quality is not awful, but it is not good. I would not recommend this printer.
Summary: This printer is the absolute least reliable piece of technology I have ever had the displeasure of owning. After only 6 mos the head got clogged and would no longer print. After many hours on the phone HP did send a replacement. Now after 1 year the replacement has done the exact same thing. Of course it always waits until you have paid the exorbitant cost to replace the cartridges, and you also have something that is VERY IMPORTANT YOU NEED TO PRINT.
Summary: DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, DO NOT BUY HP PRINTERS> I bought this printer at Costco less than 2 years ago without any extended warranty. It worked fine, but used ink like a sponge. The cartridges were no bargain except Costco reduced the price occasionally. Two weeks ago the printer stop printing in black ink without warning. I followed the usual steps of cleaning printing heads and aligning the printer without success.
Summary: Bought this originally 13 months ago. Worked ok during the warranty (but sucked up ink like no tomorrow). Printer now will not print any black ink, despite try 2 different brand new HP cartridges. So it's basically shooting out blank pages. This is a common problem, save yourself some hassle and do a search for this problem. Do not waste your time with this printer.
Black printhead failed, recommend photo or officejets over deskjets
15 January 2015
Summary: This printers black printhead failed right after the warranty period. Known issue with a lot of HP printers especially deskjets. I would recommend photojet or officejets even for home use. Look at HP's recommended service use count for printers on thier webpage, if you are going to print 200 pages in a month it would kill most deskjet models, photos and officejets are 500 and up per month.
