Summary: This printer works like a charm, but ink costs a fortune. The black ink cartridge is miniscule and not cheap, usually being sold for around $18. I use this printer very rarely and the ink is always used up almost instantaneously. The cartridge says its supposed to get 190 pages, but after about 50 print the printer shouts "low ink" and prints another 10 pages in faint ink before totally petering out.
Summary: Bought this thing to replace a Canon Pixma. Made a permanent Canon customer out of me! Copy doesn't work very well. The scan software is cumbersome. And, if you use non-HP ink you have to go through a couple of menus to acknowledge that you've willfully installed a sub-standard, non-HP print cartridge. EVERY time you change ink you have to go through calibration - print a calibration page, scan it to make sure everything is aligned.
Summary: I have two of these printers and one of them still works fine, however it gets very little use. The subject printer is 13 months old and the keypad has stopped working entirely. It gets what I would call light use. Only 1 person is using it (me), and I only print things on it when I need color output or want to use airprint. None of the buttons on the keypad work. You can't copy with it, you can't change settings through the keypad, nothing.
Summary: I bought this because I occasionally needed a printer for short, quick jobs. I'm happy with the print quality and operating costs. And it's fairly quick too. But its paper handling is miserable. EVERY TIME I attempt to print something I get error messages that I am low on paper, even though the printer is full of paper. And note that I said messages not a message. I must remove and then replace the paper a number of times before I can print.
Summary: I have had this printer for 7 months now and I loved it for about a week. The touch pad worked for about a week then it would not respond when buttons are pressed, then the wireless stopped working a few weeks after,And now I can only use it with a wired connection to my computer.I have tried everything still will not work. Complete waste of my money. This is the first bad review I have ever posted I hope it helps others.
Frustrating lack of consistency with wireless connection

Summary: I have used this printer/scanner for about one year, and have become very frustrated with it. As a printer, it does a fine job on most jobs. I don't love how quickly it goes through ink cartridges, but that's to be expected on an ink jet printer of this variety. The thing that drives me crazy about this is that when I want to scan documents, I almost always have to reboot the printer/scanner in order to get my computer to communicate with it.
Summary: All the GREAT things that this printer offers does not change the fact that the ink cartridge runs out way too fast -- which supercedes all the positive. Yes, it's a great printer, wireless capabilities for everyone in my home, and it's fast, not noisy, does great copies and scans. BUT AFTER LIKE 40 PAGES PRINTED, IT RUNS OUT OF INK! Like I said, all the good things this printer does is far outweighed by how expensive it gets when you're always buying ink everytime.
Summary: The HP scanner support for Mac is atrocious. If you buy this printer and have a Mac and want to scan you will be disappointed. You might get it work for a while, but if anything changes it will stop working. HP support has no answers. It works fine with a PC.
