Summary: This is a cheap printer. But what do you expect for under $100. The paper feeder broke after 9 months. This is an ink gusler. Thanks heavens Costco sells the print cartridges and usually has them on sale when I need them. Luckily, I paid for the $3 warranty plan when I bought it from the bigbox W store and so they are replacing it for free. Waiting for the replacement printer to arrive.
Summary: The HP Desk Jet 3050 all-in-one is not only a printer but it scans and makes copies (black and white or color). It has wireless printing so you can print from any room in your house without using cables. You can make up to 10 copies at a time. The input tray holds up to 60 sheets of paper; the output tray handles up to 25 sheets. You can scan documents up to 8.5" x 11.7". It also features a sleep mode function so you won't waste electricity when not using the printer.
Summary: Overall, it's a decent all in one printer. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend though. The network connection is faulty so WiFi printing doesn't always work. I've never seen a printer print so slow before. I almost feel like I could take a nap while it's printing a plain text page. I only spent $50 on it but I kind of feel like I over paid.
Summary: Its a basic no frills all in one thats has OK speed, OK print quality. Its a bit noisy (not the actual printing but more the feeding) which does give a bit of a "cheap" feel but thats alright. I've had no issues with wifi connection and haven't tried USB. It will not print two sided unless you manually print odd, flip, print even etc. One limitation if you print forms etc that extend to near the paper edge is that it WILL NOT print the bottom 1/2" inch of a page.
Summary: Although I bought it for the reputation, I don't know if I'll buy another one. I battled this one on four separate occasions when it "lost" the computer. Even after I connected it directly to the computer and bypassed that whole wireless nonsense, the computer still couldn't find it. I called tech support, and they were polite and helped me on the last occasion, but it gets old having to uninstall and reinstall every other week. When it prints, it prints well.
Summary: I have had two of these, one I tried out first, which worked fine, and a second one for my wife's home office. This model replaced my HP 850, which stopped working every time a cartridge ran out of ink. Needing four ink cartridges, the 850 was very expensive to use. The 3050 only has two ink cartridges and these are a lot more inexpensive than the ones for the 850.
