Summary: I was really excited to receive this printer, but every time I tried to use it I had to turn the printer off, unplug it, do a voodoo dance, say a prayer, and then turn it back on in the hopes that it would decide to print. I ended up sending it back and am waiting for a refund. I'll update this to the seller's credit if I do get it. Update - I changed my review from a 1 to a 3 because they did send me a pre-paid return label and quickly processed my refund. Thanks!

Summary: I have another printer out of the box working. I had to call HP To program my printer to my computer window 8 it wasn't listed the model I order 1050 all- in- one.I waiting to shipped the damage one back to UPS for confirmation still for first damage 1050 printer.
Summary: SEE UPDATE BELOW INITIAL REVIEW! I was so excited to get an HP Printer/Copier/Scanner for such an affordable price, I jumped all over it. Then I ran out of black ink in a very short period of time, which wasn't a big deal. I went and got another cartridge and just printed at a lower quality to save ink. Things were buzzing right along scanning some old family photos and everything looking good.
Summary: I'm looking for an inexpensive light duty printer, so I've been reading the reviews on this and other low-end models. I have to say I'm a bit surprised at the "we want our cake and eat it too" attitude of most of them. While I agree that a product that is DOA or lasts just past the warranty period is unacceptable, a lot of the complaints strike me as unrealistic. For example, ink prices. Yes, they're high... and for a very good reason.
Summary: If you tend to not use a printer for long periods of time I do not recommend this printer, the ink dries up and becomes un-usable. Have not used my printer for quite some time now and seems silly to pay a lot of money for the inks to keep replacing them.
Summary: I am quite happy with the product, though it has its own downside-inks don't last long. I do not print everyday just when it is needed and I usually select ink saving option, but after a month black ink level was low.
Summary: Just for average printing, it is a fast reliable little machine. I bought it and found out the big flaw. When you print a photo, it will not print the whole page. There is huge white border on the right. On my old HP printer you could select the border-less option, but not this one. This is important for me so I will have to donate this to someone in need and buy another one. Beware if you print A4 photos. If photos are not important, it's great for the price.
Excerpt: I noticed while in Tesco one day that the HP Deskjet 1050 was for sale at only £26.97. At the time the printer I had needed two new ink cartridges for the same price of a new printer with the extra features of both a scanner and a copier. As I wanted to scan some documents at the time it was an easy decision to decide to purchase it a new printer rather than two new cartridges of ink for my presently owned one.
