This printer should be renamed the P.O.S. model. HP should be ashamed.
M R "MR wilderness", Amazon
20 February 2014
Summary: I hate this printer... I hate it. I can't tell you how much money I've wasted in paper and ink by using it, maybe about 10 times what I paid for this P.O.S. HP has designed this P.O.S. without the ability to use old printer cartridges. It will flash error after error message when you replace one of their ink cartridges with a used one. HP's ink cartridges, first of all, run out after like 20 sheets of paper, much less than a used cartridge for half the price.
Summary: It came lose or broken parts. The box was open on top. No directions included. Buttons on top are hard to understand. You need directions. Angry I used Amazon. It is cheaper no sale at Target and easier to return.
Summary: There sometimes is a product so bad, that it makes you never want to buy another product from a company. This is one of those product. Every time it goes to print, it jams. Not once in a while, not just often, EVERY, SINGLE, TIME. We got this for Xmas a while back, for stepson's homework and such. We have tried to get this total piece of poop to work on numerous occasions, thinking each time, maybe we were doing something wrong, or using the wrong paper.
I didn't even get to use it--Destroyed During Shipping
9 September 2013
Summary: Apparently during shipping, the shippers wanted to play frisbee with the printer and the entire inside glass part is shattered. I cut my hand when I was trying to open it and have little tiny shards of glass all over my hand and floor.
Summary: I had this exact same model, purchased in Europe. When I moved to the US, I bought the same model printer. The American one ran out of ink very quickly. Luckily, I had some extra ink cartridges from my old European printer. It is the exact same model, but when I put them into my US printer, it came up with an error "This ink cartridge is incompatible with your printer. Click here to buy a genuine cartridge." I can't believe I was lead into thinking HP was a good company.
Summary: Worst, cheap printer I've ever purchased. Using with a Macbook... Out of black ink in less than 4 days of maybe 40 pages printed..... Interface is flaky with Mac... had difficulty with scanning... Waiting for printer to respond messages... had to plug and unplug several times to get to print... bottom line... avoid unless you want an emergency printer for a small job......
Summary: This is the second HP Deskjet 1050 that I bought within the time period of about 9 months. The first one died immediately after I purchased the (very expensive) long-life replacement ink cartridge. So I bought the same printer to be able to use the ink cartridge. The second one did not last even three months. I learned my lesson - will not be buying any more HP products!
Summary: I got this printer in November 2011 at the Walmart black Friday sale. It has been one problem after another. Scanning is sharp, when you finally manage to get small things in the right spot, but that takes extra time. The ink only lasted until January when the kids went back to school. Refilled them...then the problems started.
Summary: Ink is gone in under a month... Replaced with a brother HL-2240 mono laser printer, keeping this just for copies and color graphics. I can get new compatible toner cartridges for $16.00, with shipping, printing about 2,600 pgs each! That is a much better value!
