Not really networkable
6 December 2011
Summary: As a stand-alone, single-user printer it prints well: quick, sharp and bright colours. Don't however be misled by what it says on the box: it isn't networkable in the sense that it is easy for several users to use it at once. If it is connected to a network you can reach it and install it, but woe betide you if you try to install the supplied software on more than one user PC.
Summary: This multi-function unit arrived with a malfunctioning ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) this unit would pull the paper into the head and about 50% of the way into the feeder it always pull sharply to the right causing the paper to crinkle before finally the device sensed the jam and stopped feeding.
Summary: This thing is a waste of money. We're the target market - small business, four, sometimes five users. It's been a problem out of the box. I still cannot use this thing from my desktop although others on our network can. Spent literally four hours on the phone with HP tech support trying to get this working on my machine and it still doesn't work. HP has basically walked away from getting this to work. So, so much for support. It's an OK printer.
Summary: We purchased this product 4 months ago for our small office. The main goal was to allow scanning directly to email so that we could send paperwork to remote staff easily. That functionality in this printer is very good. Then, there are some issues that could cause us to think twice about buying this product again. Pros: 1. Scan to email works very well. 2. Color print quality is acceptable. Useful for making our color proposals stand out. 3.
Summary: I've always been a faithful HP buyer, but this one pushed me over the edge. I spent $650 on this printer, to get rid of the headached that I had with using a separate laser pronter from an officejet that didn't scan well (couldn't adjust resolution/very slow/problematic). Well, some issues got better and some didn't. I scan a lot for my work. I must say, this printer prints beautifully and very fast. Absolutely no problems there at all.
Summary: This may have been the absolute WORST HP experience that I've ever had. This MFP promises the moon, but can't quite deliver (at least not without a boost). IF you are buying it because you will be able to scan to e-mail, unless you have control of your e-mail server and can disable authentication, maybe OK. If you are the likely SOHO user that has an e-mail host (which most-likely requires authentication to prevent SPAM), forget about it, won't work.
