Worth Avoiding this Multi-Function Printer from HP

Summary: As you can see from other reviews, this HP Multi-function Laser Jet Printer/Copier/Fax etc. is NOT worth investing in. We've had nothing but problems from the beginning, years ago. (Note: We did not buy thru amazon.com, although most of our business purchases are through amazon.) First, not mentioned in the other reviews, so maybe everyone knows this -- but we sure didn't -- when this unit prints black, typical text as in a law firm, for instance, it uses ALL the...
Summary: I use this to print color handouts and greeting cards. When using the Avery 8315 Matte White Note Cards, the printer feeds one or two and then jams. The cards can only be printed one at a time, and even then the printer usually jams. I have not had problems with ordinary copy paper, but it really does not handle heavier paper well at all.
Poor Mac driver and support ruins excellent hardware

Summary: This printer is excellent as an all-in-one. Photos could be better, but I rarely print them. Graphics, charts, etc. really pop. The benefits of a toner-based system shows. Unfortunately, HP has not provided adequate support for Macs. All my documents print in reverse order and many features are not available, including faxing. Scanning does not work over my network. I must plug into the USB port.
Summary: I purchased a CM1312NFI printer when I was running on 64bit Vista Ultimate. Other than the fact that the printer IS a little on the slow side, overall I was pleased with it. Then came Windows 7 ... I am a 30 year computer user (and software engineer) ... I should have know better than to purchase/install an initial version of a MS OS: I upgraded to Windows 7 ~2 weeks ago when it was released.
Summary: I am a Realtor and work primarily from home. I replaced a cheap Brother MFC 420cn. While it was a good device, it cycles at least daily and uses lots of ink in the process; very costly and oftentimes I was out of ink when I needed to print color copies. In and effort to conserve ink I started turning it on only when needed. Well, the heads dried up and got clogged and the printer stopped working. (What a gimmick to sell ink.
Summary: This is a great printer only if you have a PC. This printer has really bad drivers for Macs, even for new models of mac computers. The scanner won't scan and send to the computer. I have to put in a camera memory card to scan files then hook camera to my laptop. I've re-installed the driver so many times, I can't list and for a week or so, the scanner function I mentioned earlier will work then it'll disconnect and the process starts all over again.
Summary: Pros: Nice looking unit at a great price for a Color Laser. Cons: Driver bogged down PC so much it was unbearable to keep. Printer was slow to respond to printing requests. HP Online Chat was unable to diagnose printer to begin chat process. 150 Sheet Paper Tray capacity.
Summary: Let me address the whiners. First of all, this machine only goes through a calibration cycle approximately 10 minutes after being powered on. Admittedly, this is a bit of a pain, as the procedure lasts 4 minutes. If you can't live with that, just leave the machine on during working hours -- as with most of these devices, the 1312 goes into sleep mode, which is adjustable, and thus consumes very little energy.
