Summary: I bought a HP CM-1015 multi-function printer/scanner/copier several years ago (not from Amazon, but somewhere else). It worked fine when connected to a WindowsXP print server. When I upgraded the XP to Windows 7 (about three years ago), I could not find a driver for it, so I waited, waited, and...
Summary: Bought this to help me get organized. My wife graduated and started her life long dream of being a "Teacher". As you may know, Teachers do a lot of work at home and every school night. This printer, scanner has saved her many times over and is well work the money.
Summary: Bought this printer to go along with a new 64 bit Windows 7 computer. At the time HP didn't have a working driver even though the box said it was Windows 7 compatible. Had to use the printer on an older XP machine.
Summary: Last week, my color cartridges reached 2000 pages each and stopped printing. I was able to instruct my CM1015 MFP to continue printing in color WITHOUT replacing cartridges by selecting the following command sequence from the LCD menu: Press the "Menu" button and then select.....
Great Color and B&W Printer - Paid $250.00 at Staples
15 February 2009
Summary: This is a great color laser for no money. I bought mine six months ago from Staples for $250. The black-and-white text is excellent, I've checked it with a magnifying loop against my Brothers and Epson laserJet, the text is clear and sharp.
Summary: This printer has been a great disappointment. I used it rarely but it broke after 3 months. I get an error message "scanner error 14..." for which no information is provided online. A google search showed me that others have experienced a similar error but nobody knows how to address it.
Summary: Beware of HP CHEAP LASER PRINTERS. Specifically the CM1015 and 1017. HP laser printers are expiring the toner cartridges regardless of the actual toner used. I printed 8000 pages of pure Black and White with all color turned off in the driver.
Summary: Though this multifunction printer works well (good quality images), the Macintosh support from HP (maybe all support?) is awful. I am quite experienced with scanner software and with Macintosh computers. Still, I could not get the scanning function to work with my new iMac and OX10.5.
Summary: I bought 2 of these for our school after viewing the free samples I requested from HP. They do print beautifully whether black and white or color. The scanner was not all that impressive but for ease of use it rates at the top. Scans and copies were a tad blurred. Installation was smooth and simple.
Summary: So this is almost the perfect MFD. My only beef with it is no network port. And if you use a USB network enabler, you lose the scan function. Again, not a huge issue, but since there's clearly a place on the board back there for a network jack, why not include it?
