Summary: I thought the software was crappy because this was being used on an Apple. However, after reading the other reviews, maybe its just plain lousy.

Summary: I purchased one and it seemed to work well out of the box. I found that though it is lan ready the scan over the lan is lower quality then with the usb.

Pros: Prints very good colour quality 8x11. Works good a a network printer and fax. Very rarely has a paper jam. Make an alright stand alone fax. Looks big and expensive.
Cons: Network SCAN To function very unstable Just quits. Ccommon issue HP will not fix. Iincapable of makeing a straight copy with the top feed. 1 out of 10 might work regar...
Summary: This is a good printer, but before you buy one, Google the phrase "HP 2840 carousel misalignment" and learn about the pain people like me have suffered.

Pros: Paper tray capacity is decent.
Cons: Noisy, poor printing performance, horrible installation software, poor build quality, had to have top lid, feeder unit, replaced the first week. Not impressed.
