"This is a big, heavy, loud, clunky, piece of junk."

Zeck, CNET
14 December 2011
  • Pros: Makes a great boat anchor.
  • Cons: I've got only 250 characters to tell you that it rarely worked, took up half the space on or under a credenza, the toner was ridiculously expense and it was a maintenance nightmare. And, UGLY? Don't get me started!

"Minimal support for Windows 7 with no plans to fix it!"

drm, CNET
23 October 2011
  • Pros: Decent color laser output
  • Cons: I have often recommended HP because they (at least in the past) have good support and drivers for their products. Behold, not so whit this $900. office AIO. After installing Windows 7 the only thing that works from Windows is printing. No more scanner at

"Not Impressed"

rangerskadi, CNET
7 April 2011
  • Pros: It prints documents - most of the time
  • Cons: I doesn't have any features that are different from the $80 printer I had last time, except it will print more, and scan a bit more. It doesn't work with Windows 7. It is very loud, and chugs away all night at random times.

"Like a bi-polar inflexible friend Ok and then mean!!!!!"

gjmehnert, CNET
23 November 2010
  • Pros: Prints well, scans ok, and can receive faxes (I don't know why that's important anymore)
  • Cons: Terrible driver software that hogs resources. Expensive print supplies (one of everything costs way more than the printer). Networking is OK for printing, possible for scanning, useless for any of its other "features"

"Buy this printer and regret it."

LouGarner, CNET
9 October 2010
  • Pros: Multi-function, and allows multi-tasking for sending a series of FAXes.
  • Cons: S L O W performance, image quality is only average, and color printing aborts *often* with a "PAGE TOO COMPLEX" message on nearly *any* page. HP's programmers must spend the majority of their time writing error messages rather than fixing software.

"mistake to purchase this printer"

gregkane, CNET
1 August 2010
  • Pros: the fax works manually
  • Cons: Was never able to use all functions. It took over a year to get the scanner to work from my PC. After limited use, it is just unreliable as a printer or a scanner.

"HP offers no future support for this product"

Andy_R123, CNET
20 July 2010
  • Pros: I was a decent printer at the time
  • Cons: Slow, colors aren't that great and the biggie is that since Vista OS, I haven't been able to use the scanner. There are NO Vista or Windows 7 drivers and HP has no plans to release any.
