Summary: We cannot get the photo paper to print from the small cassette or from the rear. The paper starts and then we get an error message. This model was replaced once with the same problem! We have tried everything. The regular sized cassette works fine.
Summary: The Epson XP 800 produces vivid color pictures but is not that sharp on paper. I was also initially impressed with the capabilities, compactness and features, but found it does not meet the demands my small business requires. Most frustrating was inability to override the color option when just one of the 4-pack cartridges was depleted. Even the black one has a short life span and needs to be replaced frequently, and these cartridges are expensive!
Summary: I have been using the Epson XP-800 for 12 months and 4 days. All of a sudden it won't print anything requiring black ink. I have gone through all of the troubleshooting processes to include using one complete set of ink cartridges for print head cleaning. Still nothing.
Summary: I have been using Epson printers for years and I use them pretty hard so I've had a few of them. This one is a pain! It uses a lot of ink mostly because I am always having to clean and/or change the ink. It has regular error messages that come up "cannot read the ink cartridge", when this happens, it says to reinstall the ink cartridge, then it runs thru the set up which cleans all the cartridges.
Summary: The machine appears to be well-made - especially considering it's moving parts (paper feeder and extending paper exit drawer). The printing is sharp and the installation software is very helpful. I feel the problem is ink: much too expensive.
Summary: This printer is great until you have to change ink cartridges. Then it gets heads mis-aligned, refuses to recognise the cartridges you do install. Customer support is helpful, but would rather the printer worked right. We use it for mostly photo printing, photocopies, document printing. Have not yet scanned, but have a stack of images that need rescue. Still hopeful we can fix it, but disappointed.
Summary: The XP 800 Small in one lives up to it's reputation in every aspect, but it has one major flaw that makes it a loser for me. The print nozzle heads clog up so it randomly prints things on a page as the ink comes out in dribbles or not at all. Epson customer service is great and they are well aware of this design flaw. The first time this happened was after 3 months of regular use. It has happened on the replacement printer after only 2 months.
Summary: My printer worked for 4 months, then some of the plastic feet on the gear broke off, affecting the printer's ability to pull paper thru the feeder. The printer did not have heavy loads to print, but was used to print approximately a dozen or so sheets of paper a week. I was sent a "refurbished" unit which was not working properly when I first tried it - the printing was coming out very faint and also, it arrived with ink cartridges almost empty.
