Summary: Epson has replaced it 3 times and same problem occurs. When initial ink runs out printer heads do not clean up correctly and replacement cartridges end up being used a great deal to clean heads.
Summary: I have owned 7 Epson printers over the past 7 years and until my most recent purchases I have recommended the Epson printers to all my friends. I owned two RX280's, two RX595's, an Artisian 725, an XP-600 and XP-800. I loved the first 5 and they worked perfectly for me. I do a lot of printing and just simply wore them out. I purchased the XP-600 last fall and it lasted about a month and it started leaking ink and jamming paper.
Summary: I purchased the XP-800 less than nine months ago and had to replace the black ink. In doing so it quit printing. When I followed the troubleshooting items and tried to clean the heads, ect, I was required to replace all the other inks because it said they were out, it still didn't work. I took it back to Best Buy and was thankful I paid for the two year Geek Squad protection because they swapped it out for the XP-810. I am so upset right now!
Summary: Having had an Epson Artisan 810 for several years, very happy and functional until a pre-programed and unnecessary ink pad death. Purchased a new XP 800 anticipating the same level of product. I've had this one for 2 weeks, it runs through ink in a day...when the same level of printing as I did before would last for several weeks. Its been down, more than working. I had one beautiful print job..
Summary: We purchased the Epson XP-800 and have had nothing but problems with it since we got it. The ink cartridge situation is a joke. There are 2 black cartridges. Well the larger cartridge runs out of ink often. Also, we have had to return the printer to Epson for a replacement twice. We are on our 3rd printer in this time frame. I will give customer support an A+ on how they handle the situation. I would say that this is protocol with this printer model.
Summary: I bought this printer in September, and brought it home. I installed the software, registered (thankfully), and plugged in this printer only to findu2026 it doesn't work. Everything you print has lines running through it. Thinking that it was a fluke, I continued printing. It was not. I bought and changed the ink cartridges, and still, everything you print is unreadable. Almost every other review I read on this product said the same thing. Never buying Epson again.
Summary: I have had this printer now for about a year. Printing is off. I always have to realign everything, prints only the upper portion of the line. I have tried to set everything back to factory, but there is no info as to how to do that. It also uses a large amount of ink. I am always having to buy new ink. I bought Epson as that is my printer of choice but this one has been a lemon XP-800.
