Prints and scans fine but ink carts designed to bleed you dry.

Sean Hewitt, Amazon
11 November 2013
  • Summary: This would be a perfectly great printer if they hadn't gotten so greedy with the ink cartridges. The thing prints fine and scans fine for the most part. The only issue we've had printing is when we print out ferry tickets with a bar code on them, the bar code never scans anymore since we got this...

Cheap, but NOT a good value!

worthyFight "codeRider", Amazon
28 May 2013
  • Summary: After 6-weeks of very minimal use, I had to replace my ink cartridges. Feeling that "genuine" Epson cartridges are way over-priced, I got replacements from an online cartridge company that has earned my trust with good products and great service.

Poor product, expensive ink, poor support

Cmc, Amazon
21 July 2012
  • Summary: I had trouble with this printer from the onset, but would get it working again by cleaning print heads. Used LOTS of ink up just cleaning the heads!! And the ink is costly! !Latest episode is 2 days ago:was printing well, but notice that 2 of the inks were low.

Ink eating heavy on pocket printer..

Aafiq, Amazon
21 July 2012
  • Summary: It prints well for the time it prints but that unfortunately is very little. I have to spend more time in adjusting it and changing the cartridges. Its like a never ending expense if you keep using it. I have had it for about 2 yrs and I use it sparingly.

Good scanner, terrible printer

CJR, Amazon
21 July 2012
  • Summary: We bought the XP-400 from Wal-Mart for it's name and plethora of features. The scanner works very well but lacks some of the functionality of our old HP to crop PDF's, which is especially useful when scanning receipts. The printer side of things, however, has been terrible.

Print daily or not at all, and be ready for the usual "buy more ink!" hustle.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
21 July 2012
  • Summary: BOTTOM LINE: Print daily or not at all. As an infrequent printer user, next time I shop I'll buy a slightly more expensive printer that has better ink efficiency. PROS: - fully loaded features for the price point - quality printing and scanning for frequent users CONS: - clunky epson bloatware that...

DON'T USE REFILLED INK CARTRIDGES.

MishaH, Amazon
21 July 2012
  • Summary: A year ago I would have given this 4 stars. Now, I'd give it one star. Here's why: -It's had connectivity issues from the start. It connects fine to the wireless network in our house, but it must have a really short attention span because I have to re-connect it to the wifi in between every single...

Not for anyone wanting to print much

Jennifer Hildebrand, Amazon
20 July 2012
  • Summary: This is an excellent printer for someone who wants to print about 50 pages, one at a time, then get a new printer. The nozzles have to be cleaned constantly and the paper that is supposed to be printed on comes out partially printed.

2.5 Stars

Tidal, Amazon
20 July 2012
  • Summary: The printer's functionality and performance is good. It gets bumped down to two stars (would be 2.5 but I do not think it deserves to be rounded up) because of its inexplicable ink gating system. If one cartridge is out of ink you cannot print. at. all...
