perfect size, weird paper feed & noises

Barbie, Epson

  • Summary: This was the perfect size for my desk next to my desktop computer. Copies print out nicely, although I did have a problem at one point when the paper did not feed very quickly, and the ink 'packs' kept going back & forth, so I had to stop it. I noticed that the 'foam' pad inside was saturated with ink, but no ink on paper. I also tried to find what was happening in the 'Guide' but could not find out why it did this. Also, it randomly 'resets' (?

Epson

Dot, Adorama

  • Excerpt: I love my Epson, it's compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. The problem I have with it are the instructions on the printer itself, they are not very clear eg, changing ink cartridges, enlarging.

Does It All

  • Excerpt: I replaced a perfectly good Epson with this printer to add the Fax function. Oddly, I have not had an opportunity to use the fax function, yet, so cannot comment. What impressed me the most so far is that I was able to connect this printer to my home network wirelessly with absolutely no help from my 13 year-old neighbor! I have three other printers and have not been able to connect any of them.

  • Excerpt: I have had the EPSON WF-2530 for awhile now and find it better than a leading competitor which I had and ended up with print head problems on that. Have had no problems with my EPSON.

A good MFP

  • Excerpt: It does the job well enough. Works from Windows, Mac OS X using CUPS and iOS using Airprint. I gave the print server a static IP from my router to avoid any problems accessing it over wi-fi. Document printing fine, no problems. The photo printing was a bit dim, I really needed to turn up color saturation in my photo software to get results that looked like the original. Otherwise I got washed out dull looking results using premium photo paper.
