Summary: I like the extra paper capacity, printer options, and easy 2-sided copying. I was hoping for better scanning capability because I upgraded from a prior model. However, scanning quality is just as poor as my previous model.
Summary: Epson WP-4540 replaced my older printer. It works great, but I spent weeks learning I lacked the application software to scan documents. This application software was easy to find on Epson's website, but the application was around 90 Mb. Now that my WP-4540 works, I expect to keep it for years.
Summary: There are problems with the sheet feeds from both trays. I receive an error message out of paper or paper jam from the lower tray. Also; the unit seems to use a lot of ink; not delivering the 1200 - 2400 page yields i expected.
Summary: Fine home office printer. Noisy, slow, prints only color, no draft mode to save time or ink, but the "SCAN" function is ridiculous. Not once have I been able to get it to work easily. Default is tiny photograph scan. Really poor.
Summary: This printer has been good for the last year with only a couple of problems. Replacement policy of the printer within warranty is a bit of a hassle (a full replacement cost deposit is required before they ship out a new one) and if you run out of any of the color inks, you're not able to continue...
Summary: Overall, this has been a pretty good unit. Print quality is great, even for business presentation. Often times, I will use this model over our color laser. Print speed is very quick and spool up time is quick.
Summary: Con: Paper capacity is only (10) #10 envelopes at a time. Why design a high volume printer that holds fewer envelopes than a low volume, home printer? Would have been very easy to allow the paper tray brackets to zoom in a bit further and hold at least 30 envelopes. Poor design.
