The WorkForce 840 is a printer that is powered by a 4-color (CMYK) drop-on-demand MicroPiezo® ink jet technology that produces a minimum ink droplet size as small as 3 picoliters. It supports a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi and prints at speeds of 15 ISO ppm (black)/9.3 ppm (color) or 7.4 ISO ppm (black)/ 5.4 ISO ppm (color) for 2-sided printing. The printer can also copy 1-99 pages (PC –free) and support automatic reduction and enlargement; 2400 dpi optical resolution scanning technology which supports a maximum resolution of 9600x9600 dpi (interpolated), and can fax up to 180 pages at 33.6 Kbps. It also has a 250 sheets plain paper, 10 envelopes tray capacity, is compatible with DURABrite® Ultra pigment ink, as a Fade Resistance / Print Longevity of up to 118 years, and supports the following interface: Hi-Speed USB 2.0, wireless Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and wired Ethernet (10/100 Mbps). The WorkForce 840 is compatible with Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, Windows XP, Windows XP x64, and Mac OS® X5, 10.4.11, 10.5.8 and 10.6.x operating system. It measures 17.5" x 22.0" x 6.1" and weighs 9.9 lb. The printer comes with Epson printer driver and Epson Easy Photo Print software.

It also features a built-in 250-sheet paper tray, a 7.8 inch smart touch panel which lights up only the buttons needed and a 3.5 inch LCD display; can scan and archive with COR software which is included and saves documents in PDFs; allows users to print directly from support iPhone and other mobile devices; has 30-page Auto Doucment Feeder; built-in Wi-Fi for wireless setup/networking; PC fax function, a front USB port for thumb drives and file uploads directly to a PC, and is covered by a one-year limited warranty; phone support, without charge, for the life of the product.
